Quality of rooms - 1 Fun/Atmosphere - 1 Location - 2
Safety - 1 Management - 1 Value - 1

First of all, I would not waste my time on writing this review if it is not that bad , but you can still come to this accom if you think it suits you.

Regarding the room quality, the kitchen wash basin is too small that it can just fit one pot in it, and the location of the tape next to the basin basically restrain you to stack any dishes, so do not even think that you can throw a party and cook lots of food, cause you will end up having a problem to find space fitting in that tiny place.

The flush button is problematic, when the toilet lid is up then it basically blocks the whole button and you literally have to take down the lid everytime when you flush the toilet, and the water strength is too strong that it will splash water out to the floor, ridiculous.

You know you will bring friends over to spend some quality time. Yes it is good that they have a good security system, but you literally have to register the visitor's name on their system and leave an identity card with them everytime your friend come. When you hand in the ID card , they just spend tons of time in gathering information and identifying your visitors, VERY DISCOURAGING.

In addition to the above point, the staffs are not helpful. They always have fun in their little reception corner. They were friendly on the first day, but when everything is settled, then basically you have to take their unprofessionalism and attitude all the time. I have an experience where I needed to wait a male staff to finish replying to his whatsapp group first and served me, totally unprofessional. Females in that place are basically bossing up to you all the time, you just have to wait in the reception until they look up to you from that computer. It seems super normal to take their sassy attitude and their ignorance, not friendly at all !

Moreover, you just have to take the annoyance and NOISES in the building. They dont have any nuisance policy , it means when people running and shouting in the corridor, you just have to take it. The lobby is SUPER NOISY all the time , they keep playing loud music and people shouting to each other when playing pool in early morning. Plus, people will shout in the public garden which makes SO MUCH NOISE, so dont even try to study if you live there. I have had experience that i called a security up to settle the 'loud talking in the corridor in midnight' situation, the security just replied i cant do anything about it , i cant ask them to shut. You just wont get a good sleep.

Not to forgot to mention that , if any occasion you lost your key card to your room, then bad luck to you, cause you have to pay 40 for a new card, 25 to reopen your door. Well, what i can say, its a smart 'business' strategy anyway. Adding to this, the elevator broke down all the time, not in service, ordinary check up , it happens frequently. Finally, for this amount of money with these qualities, well, think about it by yourself. GOODLUCK

Worst Decision of my year

1

Quality of rooms - 0.5 Fun/Atmosphere - 1.5 Location - 3.5
Safety - 2.5 Management - 0.5 Value - 0.5

Stay away from this place ! The Chapter (formerly Nido) as this place is now called is absolutely a piece of trash to live in. I have taken a few pictures as of today which you can see by clicking on the following link and also here are a few points that you should keep in mind while booking this place.

http://postimg.org/gallery/zzum5ysi/

1. Management – They have no courtesy to their residents and the moment you sign a contract with this place the management takes a whole different stance and try to screw you left, right and center. Currently, the entire building is under construction and the all of the advertised facilities are shut but the management seems to be indifferent and their best reply is – “Sorry”. They will ask you for every penny you owe them though even when it feels like living in a sh*th*le.

2. Expensive – Yes, you got it right. You can stay at various other places in London at literally half the price of this building. Not only is the rent expensive but also other facilities like food, laundry, room cleaning, café food etc are mind blowingly expensive.

3. Rooms – The rooms are extremely small. So much that you can hardly walk through the room freely with the chair, bean bag and bed occupying most of the place. The rooms aren’t even clean and there is apparent dirt all around.

4. Staff – Just like the management, the staff appear to be nice but are indifferent when it comes to helping out its residents when in need. They will just answer “sorry, we can’t do anything about it” at all times when you do really need help.

5. Facilities – Yes, there are facilities but do not expect anything more than a couple of pool tables, fusbol tables and table tennis tables. This is all they have and everything advertised in their website is fake.

6. Comfort to residents – Absolutely NO. My card has been blocked several times for silly reasons and then you have to walk back to the reception to plead to them to allow you inside you own room (FOR WHICH YOU HAVE PAID A BOMB). And all this for little/no reason. They won’t care about lost money when laundry machines don’t work, loosing money in not functional vending machines/atm’s. Once they told me at 11 pm at night while entering the building and my card wasn’t working that you have to stay out tonight which is in NO GODDAMN way done.

7. Construction – If you are looking to stay in the building for the next academic year 2016-2017, all I can say is GOOD LUCK !! You can see the pictures that I have taken as of today (June 2016) and the entire building is in shambles. Please do have a look at the pictures (single most important point to convince you of the same)

8. Safety – While they have a security team with all CCTV’s and all, they have lost a few of my packages. I don’t know if that accounts to much but if there is something important that you order and it gets lost (when the building staff take no responsibility), I have nothing to say. Having said that, CCTV’s are just in the communal areas and none in the room corridors on all floors.

9. Social Life – Each resident is in a single room so unless you make the effort in communal areas to reach out beyond your friends, this place is pretty unsocial. People hang out in their own groups (predominantly ethnicity based and college based) and rarely move out beyond that.

10. Value for money – Personal take, this is the single biggest regret of my year at London. I would be much much happier (and of course richer), had I planned to stay somewhere else in other student accommodations or apartments. This is just not worth it and money aside, I personally woudn’t stay here for free too.

Management is terrible

2

Quality of rooms - 1.5 Fun/Atmosphere - 1 Location - 3.5
Safety - 3.5 Management - 0.5 Value - 0.5

I am an American student studying here in London for 5 months, and this accommodation was set up for me by my home school. The location is pretty good, only a 5 minute walk from King's Cross, and surrounded by grocery stores and restaurants. The rooms are nice, and you're supplied with a set of dishes. The only bad thing about this accommodation is the incompetent staff and management. I've never had an interaction with a member of staff in which they weren't rude. I've had so many issues regarding laundry & printing. The printer is always broken, as are the washing machines and dryers. To wash and dry a load of laundry is £5, but the clothing is almost never completely dry. The website we use to top-up our laundry cards no longer accepts American credit cards, but the residents were never notified of this, and now we have no way to do laundry in our building. We have to use a laundromat, which is absolutely unacceptable considering how much we are paying to live here. Every time I try to talk to reception about this issue I am met with a rude, condescending attitude. Living here has been the worst thing about my London experience.
