My Year at Unilife

I stayed at Unilife for one year and I am student who is currently studying at the University of Southampton. My experience of Unilife was overall to a satisfactory level. The location of the studios is second-to-none, as you have all the shops that you would want within 2 minutes of walking. In addition, the bus stops to go to various places in Southampton are very close too, therefore it is convenient beyond belief. Unilife did organise some fun nights and meet-ups for us to attend, which were very enjoyable. If I needed anything in terms of documents, repairs to my room and other concerns that I had, the employees were very quick to rectify the problem, so it was great service on their part. Certainly the value is substantial, however, I would say that it is worth the amount I paid, due to the fact that my everyday life was made so much easier by the location of studio. The room, that I stayed in, at the High Street was probably not as big as I was expecting, but it had everything that I wanted within, i.e, a bed, desk, kitchen, bathroom and other essentials that I needed which were all kept to a high standard. Overall I am very happy that I chose Unilife.

I lived at Unilife High street for a year, and it was a pleasure. The rooms are nice and the management is polite and doing what they can to help their tenants. I went to viewings on another studio, but if I were going to live with my girlfriend it ost 25 % extra to live there. I also called Vita to ask what the price was for couples, but they told me they did not even take couples. In Unilife they took couples without extra charge which I felt was really good. They have everything you need to enjoy your time there. And like University Halls you can make friends for life and at the same time get the space you need without any noise.

I took a bachelor at Solent University, which made the location of the studio fantastic. It is only a 10 minute walk to Solent, and if you study Graphic Design it is only a 2 minute walk. You have everything you need right outside your door.

The management is really helpful if you need something and they are very nice and polite.

The price for the studio is the same or cheaper than any other studio letting companies that I talked to. And they have a wide selection of studios available for different prices. The only negative comment that I can give is that when you let, you have to bind yourself for 44 or 55 weeks depending on the studio you choose.

Since I did a bachelors degree I was done with my studies in may, but I had to let my studio for 55 weeks, so I had my studio until september. That is something I think Unilife should fix, but in my case they helped me find a replacement so that we did not have to rent a studio that we did not need for 2 months.

The Unilife team work hard to make it a good place for students to live, and they work hard to help you if there is anything you need.

I have stayed in unilife for one year (10.10.2013 - 05.09.2014), from my experiences during the time I stayed in unilife, I will never recommend it to anyone. One of the most important reason is the price, it is very expensive and getting more expensive each year and they are also getting a deposit from you which was approximately £1000 and at the end of the year with some excuses like cleaning, painting the walls (which is their responsibility to do after every tenant) they are not paying the half of the deposit back. Second most important problem is, the management; they are not professional at all. There is no one in the building most of the times. My room was kitchen shared and I have forgot my key inside my room for three time without having my phone or wallet with me and there was no staff in the building to help me (and every time they charge you £25 for just opening the door!).
