Hated living here. Was told I was allowed to have guests park in the car park but they weren't allowed to park overnight (even tho it was empty) so parking is a real challenge. The bathrooms are tiny and just awful. I'm tiny and even I struggled to wash my hair without smacking my elbows on every wall. So so overpriced for what you get. They refused to give me my full deposit back due to some paint on the chair which now needs 'replacing' even though it's perfectly fine to use and I was given it like that at the start of my tenancy. There are no drawers so storage is hard to find for little bits and pieces. Walls are so thin so be prepared to hear everything your flat mates are doing. Windows also don't fit properly so you have a draught all throughout the winter. Heating is shockingly bad so rooms are freezeing through the winter months. Maintenance were pretty useless too. Washing is very expensive. Quite far from Dmu compared to other halls as well. Would not stay here again.
Just moved out and i loved it here, it made me feel so comfortable and settled at university, yeah it's a little over priced but it's money well spent, my flat mates did different subjects and it was so interest to meet other people that are not on your course. Also is really close to uni which is a bonus, got everything you need in the same location, a shop at the bottom of liberty, washing and a gym it's amazing xo
The bedrooms are ok space wise but the desks are oddly shaped, they are rounded and are like a semi circle meaning you lose space because of this. The bathroom is small as they are the pod bathrooms meaning to have a shower your whole bathroom gets wet. Minimal storage only a wardrobe and some shelves that aren't that easy to put clothes on. I had a massive kitchen but was really badly planned. not enough seating area at the breakfast bar and needed more drawers as only had 1 for 5 flatmates. All in all, the location is great and the management and security staff are brilliant. they help you with any of your issues whatever time of the day. the maintenance staff are also good as they will fix the issues as quick as possible.
The common room is not over used so if you want a quiet space to chill or rehearse it is very useful, it now has a pool table and a table tennis table oh and ping pong, which is great, but if you want the stuff to play the games like the cues or the bats you have to ask security, and they stop giving then out at 10/11. there is a Tv in there also but I have NEVER seen it used and I suppose you have to ask for the remote for that too. :/ Security is insane! It is so extreme that Liberty is nicknamed the prison, there are cameras EVERYWHERE at all angles, which is safe, but also slightly annoying as you always feel like you are being watched as you often are! there is 24 hour security people on the desk, and big metal gates at the entrance which are a pain as if you have people over you always have to go out to let them out. to get to my room I have to use my fob twice and my kea twice so it is very hard to break in and only has been done once this year and they did not manage to take anything, so that is not a worry. The rooms are not greatly designed so what I did was move my bed and one of the desks, which did make it a lot better. there is enough space and I also bought storage boxes so there is plenty of storage! the desk is weirdly shaped but it does not bother me, although the chair hurts my back as its not a great design. oh and my room is on the inside so I whenever my curtains are open people can look into my room, and that is VERY annoying! The on suite looks horrible in the pictures, like a camping toilet, but I actually like my little pod, it is so easy to clean which is great, especially as its my first bathroom that I have had to clean. The shower space is small though but it does the job as the shower pressure is good and it's always nice and warm. for meeting people in fresher's there are lots of flat party's to go to and it was really easy to meet people. these party's do go on all year though and if your room is on the inside you can always hear people shouting "good morning liberty!" ...Yer that was a thing :'D I have gotten used to it though and it does not annoy me as much as I would have thought it would. if I were you I would try and get a room high up and facing outwards. Overall I do really like living here, I have put lots of the negatives, but it is not too expensive for what you get and you are safe and overall I do love my room and my flat... when it is not messy. :D where ever you live it will not change the experience too much as all the places are the same with tiny differences. so try not to over worry.
The management are lovely but the bathrooms are tiny and the kitchen is not as nice as other halls I've seen. My experience with house mates has been awful, I would not choose halls altogether if I knew it was like this. Not far from uni for town but not ideal for supermarket shopping. Room layout isn't brilliant either.
The staff and security are always lovely and things get fixed quickly if they happen to break. rooms can seem quite small and the lack of drawers is annoying. the desks are odd shaped and can't be moved. the bathrooms are ridiculously small but nice enough and easy to clean. The washing system is annoying, should be coin operated. also they're a little over priced.
The rooms are quite nice and space isn't really an issue. Although the rooms are poorly planned (no draws at all and the only storage is the wardrobe and a couple of shelves), and the tables are weird and curved which is a bit space inefficient. Location wise, it's a short walk to campus and a bit further to town - a little far but easily walkable. If you do rowing (I do) it's the perfect location since it's next door to the rowing club. The bathrooms are a little small but hey, you get on suite. The main issue I think is the price - for £113 a week, I get the smallest kitchens in the whole building. Other accommodations have larger rooms/living space, and some include cleaning services and other benefits for the same price. In summary I'm perfectly comfortable living here but the price is steep for what you get since other places are better value for money.
