Excellent accommodation but slightly expensive for Whats on offer
I have absolutely loved living in these halls! My time here was amazing - and the staff made that happen. My room was a double with a sea view - which I cannot recommend enough! Waking up everyday to the view of the sea is just so amazing and I am from the country so seeing the sea was even more welcomed by me. I applied for the University through clearing so had 3 weeks to find accommodation and set up etc, we contacted these halls and they gave me a room with all the information I needed! Living in Alexandra Halls has been such a lovely experience. I got to meet my best friend and had awesome flat mates. The staff are lovely! They make soup, give out ice creams and tea which is just great (especially being a student and living off no money!) I cannot thank the staff at Alexandra Halls enough - you are great!
Alexandra hall is a wonderful building steeped in history, the rooms are well maintained and it's lovely that you can pick out your particular room before you book, it's nice to know where you're going and exactly what you're getting before hand unlike with the uni, I've been in two different room types and would certainly say it is worth paying the extra for the seaview room. Astonishing views all year round. All the staff are wonderful and are willing to go above and beyond there duties for any student, i know they've helped people with car problems, phoning taxi's, lock outs out of hours, directing you who to speak to at the uni when you have problems, they're always on hand to help, it's really nice to have a friendly set of people to approach if you have a problem in or out of the building. However, my only little downside is that the building lacks CCTV, i really think it could benefit from this, not that anything ever goes wrong or happens here but it would be nice to have that. It's got a really nice community feel to it and i really like living here. Not to mention it's halls, which doesn't feel like a dive like the uni and has double beds! winning!
Alex halls are well located in Aberystwyth town on the sea front about 30 mins walk from the university and 15 from the town centre it boasts fine views out onto the celtic bay. Although it is quite a large building residents soon knit together into a strong community and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, quickly getting to know you as you nip in and out past reception to wherever and are happy to help even after hours to help sort out issues such as lock outs and power cuts. Alex halls are perhaps a bit on the expensive side but are worth it compared to uni provided halls.
I have lived here for 2 years and have re-booked for next year! Everyone here is really nice and I really like it here too. If your looking for seaside accommodation with all bills included this is the place to stay!
I have lived here for 2 years, and only been evacuated once. Will be living here next year as well, service is better since the new company took over, friendly staff and always willing to ring for a taxi for me
I've lived here for two years now, and can't fault anything. Living across the road from the beach, with a 5 minute walk into town and a 10/15 minute walk to uni is perfect! Because you get the best of both for studying and for a social life and if you don't fancy walking, there is a bus stop a minute away that takes you onto campus! Whenever I have had any problems at all, the hospitality team are on it right away. They're friendly and make you feel at home and they're always up for a friendly conversation. The value of Alexandra Halls is brilliant. With all bills included, and a big spacious and stylish room is brilliant because once you have paid for your rent, you don't have the worry of having to pay bills every week/month so that's ideal for a student. If you re-book your room too, you're able to leave your stuff over the summer instead of taking it home. I find this so helpful because unlike living on campus or in a house, you have to travel back and fourth with all of your belongings.
