I know from the minute I landed in UK that Birmingham was a step from my comfort zone, however upon arriving at the fire station I was greeted with a warm welcome, easy check in service and shown to my room. Kerrie was helpful from start to finish and answered all my questions during this process. I Feel lonely at times but its nice to know that I am safe and there is always staff here who ensure we are well and safe. I met abraum a few nights back, he seems friendly however not sure if he is as approachable compared to the others on a night. Day staff are welcoming and friendly. room is cosy with plenty of space for items I bring. social space is a warm area to visit. I look forward to the rest of my time here, I hope to make new friends and excel in my study's whilst creating memories of my time here.
Mice Problem Lived there for 2 years, I lived on ground floor on the first year, mice came behind the fridge and gave me the worst night in England. I complained the next day, problem didn't solve for at least a month. At least 3 mice were killed by myself with mice traps, more mice escaped through my door into my neighbours room. The worst is the office people didn't do anything about my nightmare until they arrange a new room after a long period of time. I left early because of the mice problem, they even write a court letter to my parent to chase my rent!!!! ridiculously management doesn't care to solve this problem. Wished to complaint and sue them if I can find their owner of this property.
Been staying here whilst at uni and the price goes up each year, even when they tell you it won't! Gates and doors either open or broken, staff unhelpful, apartment facilitates terrible, shower and toilet constantly overflow and always a bad smell within the buildings, bins often overflowing! Really wouldn't recommend as you do not get told about important information such as a rise in rent! And takes months to receive deposits back!
I am a student in Birmingham and this accommodation is by far the best that exists in the city centre and around Aston Uni Campus. I happily renew my contract every year! Very friendly staff , great people, kind, organised and willing to help anytime. Highly recommended. Also way less noise and mess comparing to the other accommodations around which makes it a good environment for students who want to concentrate in their studies and succeed! Also plenty of student space offered- library, student space with games etc. :)
I've lived here for the past 2 years and it's a really nice place to live. All rooms are nice and clean because they've only been open for two years so everything is still new. Staff are always really friendly and helpful and are always on hand to help with any problems. It's right next door to Aston Uni so it literally takes two minutes to get to lectures. My only problem is the price; it's more expensive than most other sites in the area, but it's because most rooms are studios rather than shared flats. Overall a really nice place to live, well worth the higher price tag.
Can't speak for all, but I've had absolutely no issues with this place. Maintenance problems have been sorted within a day or so of being reported. There is staff on site 24/7 for any issues or emergencies. The building is really nice with a fair amount of quite unique architecture. There are two main social/study spaces that are cleaned regularly, with a big TV and sofas too. The only slight issue is that sometimes it can get a little cold, but a £20 heater from B&M has sorted that out.
Friendly and helpful staff, with a responsive maintenance team. The rooms are in really good condition, nice modern feel to them. The historic setting is quite a nice change to other local accommodations. Location is right next to Aston University, so five minutes away from the city centre and very close to Birmingham City University as well, ideal for students at those universities. I say it's great for second and third year students as the accommodation is well-managed (so fairly quiet), and the location is perfect for those needing to get university quickly/regularly, so a great place to focus on your studies. The cost is slightly higher than other student accommodations but you get your money's worth for the location in my opinion. It's safe, offers opportunities to meet other residents and partake in social events, and the rooms are generally spacious and clean. The shower is always hot as well, from my experience. My only negatives are that it can get quite cold in the winter due to the timed heating radiators they use (but most places use these), but quickly can be warmed up. Also, it's not the most lively accommodation but that doesn't mean that it can't be. Staff here are great, always there if you need.
Noisy from extractor fans going 24/7 in the courtyard. Get an outside facing room if you can. Second entrance is never shut so anyone can come in. Rooms in bandstand area don't have opening windows. Management friendly but aren't able to do much about any problems. Post/parcels regularly lost due to no real system. Only one Hoover for 400+ residents.
Great - Clean - Very close to campus
