University of Hertfordshire, which gained university status in 1992, is based across two campuses in Hatfield: College Lane, the main campus with the Students’ Union, learning resources centre and principal teaching spaces; and de Havilland, home to the Hertfordshire Sports Village and additional teaching departments. The two campuses are around a 20-minute walk apart, connected by a free shuttle bus. The university’s own Uno bus service connects both campuses with Hatfield town centre, St Albans and surrounding areas. Hatfield railway station has direct services to London King’s Cross in around 25 minutes.
