University in Hull

University of Hull, founded in 1927, has a single campus on Cottingham Road, around a mile north of the city centre. It covers arts, humanities, social sciences, business, law, health sciences, medicine, engineering, sciences and computing. Where do students live in Hull

Newland Avenue, to the northwest of the campus, is the main student area in Hull, with a high concentration of shared houses, cafés, bars and independent shops along the avenue and the surrounding streets. Beverley Road, running north from the city centre past the campus, is another established student area with a mix of private housing and purpose-built student accommodation. Students who want to live on campus can choose from three university-managed halls — Westfield Court, The Courtyard and Taylor Court — all within the campus grounds.

Getting around Hull

Hull is a flat, compact city where most student areas are within walking or cycling distance of the campus. Local buses connect Newland Avenue, Beverley Road and the city centre with the university. Hull Paragon Interchange, the city’s main transport hub, has direct rail services to Leeds in around an hour and to London King’s Cross in around two hours 30 minutes.
