Where do students live in Oxford

University of Oxford students typically live in college accommodation in their first year, then move into private housing in areas close to the colleges. Jericho, northwest of the city centre, and East Oxford — particularly Cowley Road and Iffley Road — are the most established student areas, popular with students from both universities. Headington, to the east, is the main student area for Oxford Brookes students, with a high concentration of shared housing close to the Headington Campus. Summertown, north of the city centre, is a quieter alternative with good walking and cycling access to the University of Oxford colleges.
