I rebooked my room for a second academic year at Firhill Court because I loved my experience so much! The staff are so friendly and inviting to all new students. I really feel that this has added to my amazing experience at this accommodation because staff go above and beyond their job description to keep students happy. I am really grateful for all of the information and continuous support they provide. No request is too much and I never feel unwelcome. Additionally, the accommodation facilities are excellent value for money and I was very impressed by the kitchen/living room area. Because I have a car, the free parking with a locked gate has been a real plus- although it only takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk to three main shops. I also have a view of the canal from my room which makes it feel like I am away from all of the busyness of the city, without being far away. The stadium view on the other side of the accommodation is also great for watching games! Maintaining clean communal areas is always routinely checked and it is very easy for students to request for quick repairs in their flat/rooms with access to an app. This means that repairs within the accommodation are attended to very quickly and can also be done when you are outside of your flat/room. Privacy for residents however, is always respected and staff are very good at notifying you via email if they need to attend your flat/room for any reason. Another huge plus for me was that this accommodation allowed for me to store my things over the summer at no extra cost to me, without paying summer rent- if I rebooked prior to leaving. This was really helpful considering that I go back to America every summer and would find it almost impossible to take everything with me. The only thing I wish the accommodation had was an available social area for students from different flats to interact and meet. However, I am hugely impressed overall with my purchase and really cannot recommend Firhill Court enough to any students who are considering student accommodation in Glasgow!
So much better than University accommodation. The staff are super friendly and the management is excellent. It is worth the price and a comfortable place to live!!!
After seeing most glasgow uni accommodation and much consideration, my son moved into Firhill court in sept 2017 as a fresher student.Never been living away from home independently before obviously I was bit worried. But after seeing his room with own personal pod toilet/shower, large desk to work at plenty of storage space,double bed and bright modern kitchen with all facilities, I went home pleased he would settle. He's been there now for over 5 wks and loves it! Its walking distance (12mins or so) to his uni . He has met great flatmates and feels safe coming and going anytime due to 24hr cctv monitor of building. All the staff are very attentive and aproachable , and have made the transition quick and easy to his 'new home'! My son initially said he wanted to try uni halls for his first year. But now he's already saying ..he'll be at Firhill court next year .

It was a great pleasure for me to write for Firhill Court student accommodation. I enjoyed the time I stayed, enjoyed the view of my window, the safety and the calm environment that helped me to achieve a great success in my tough course. The team was very supportive at all the stages and all the times starting before I arrive until the last moment.
I have stayed at Firhill Court for 3 years and have been really glad with my experience there. Everything, from the great maintenance to the overall atmosphere (flatmates / ...) and the fantastic staff on-site made me return year after year. The rooms are big and well maintained, enough for a student to live comfortably. The building is also really secure, with security cameras all around and security staff on-site at all times even after reception closes. But without a doubt, the best part about Firhill was the staff. Everyone working there was always so outstandingly nice and welcoming that I truly got to feel at home. You always know if they can help in any way, they will; which was really nice of them and great to have as a student living on your own in a city you don't know.

I believe Firhill court is the optimal decision for those who want to stay in student accommodation in Glasgow.
I have lived two years in Firhill and I can honestly say it had some ups and downs moments. The pros are that the staff is really nice and accommodating, they tend to answer really quickly to all your inquiries and are happy to fix your problems as soon as they can. It is also really safe as there is 24/7 on-site security which is available throughout the night for any problem. But most importantly, it is incredibly cheap compared to all the other accommodation in Glasgow. However, since you're paying much less than in any other accommodation, they are obviously some cons. Rooms are quite small even though overall they are the same size of any other accommodation (for example Murano which is close by). It's 25 minutes walk from uni which is not very pleasant during the winter since you are not willing to leave your room. Moreover, it is also distant to the local amenities, the closest supermarket is Lidl which is approximately 10 minutes from the accommodation. It's not bad of course but if you're carrying many heavy bags under the rain it's not ideal. Finally, there wasn't any event organized during the year and there aren't any social areas so if you are expecting to meet new people it's completely up to you and your ability to say hi to random strangers ahah Overall, regardless these flaws, for the price you pay it's a good accommodation and I would suggest it to you if all you need is a cheap place to live without expecting a luxury room.
The staff at Firhill Court are absolutely wonderful, very very helpful. It's a bit of a walk to get to the university but nothing unmanageable. Would consider for first year!
The flats are for 4 to 6 people, all rooms with ensuites. Rooms and kitchen are clean and everything works the way it ought to. Very nice atmosphere from the next-door stadium on match days; otherwise, the location is rather quieter than other student accommodation. Walking to uni takes 25 minutes. Laundry room is £2.80 a wash and £1.50 to dry, and comes with the regular vending machines and small grievances of a laundry room. The office staff are lovely.
This is a nice choice if you prefer walking 20 minutes to the university. The flat is tidy and clean with some neccesary device. Generally the accommodation deserve considering even though a bit issue. For example, the refrigerator is not large enough and some device reqire more maintanence because I experienced three time of fire alarm in the midnight and finally to discovered nothing. The staff is very nice and responsible. It is nice that Lidl and Tesco are only 15 minutes wlak from the flat.
Firhill is 20 minute walk from University of Glasgow which I don't mind and if you're walking with friends or listening to music it doesn't seem that long of a walk. There is a minibus on hand for anyone who wants to use it and Andy (the driver) is very chatty and helpful. The staff are great; if any maintenance is required it will be fixed promptly depending on the issue. Reception (Vanessa & Baljender) are lovely and are always on hand for any queries. The rooms have more space than any other university accommodation and have 3/4 beds. They are en-suite. There is one bigger en-suite per flat to accommodate anyone who needs it. The en-suites are decent, they are rather small but for a wet room is a decent size, may be a little difficult if you're on the tall side though as shower heads are placed at standard height. The kitchen is modern with 2 fridges and a microwave provided. There is a sofa, chair and TV if you want to relax in that area (although the TV signal is a bit rubbish but its worth watching movies through a laptop or suitable for game consoles). However, bar stools are pretty rubbish and broke (although they are getting a new make). No cleaning equipment is provided and hoovers are provided at reception which is a bit of a pain but there is a lift to use. All-in-all its one of the nicest accommodations in Glasgow.
If you want luxury and comfort, this is definitely the place to be. All rooms are ensuite and are definitely huge for student accommodation. The flats come in 6 to a room: a nice size for keeping the place in a good condition and making friends. The internet services are fast, and the shower rooms are comfortable. You may think that a shower room would be inconvenient, but as soon as you pull that curtain, you forget that it's not a proper closed-off shower. Only one minor issue: there is currently no recycling bins. I am not sure if rubbing is sorted later, but the existence of recycling is very important to me.
the toilet sometimes has problems and need to be fixed msny time. the mosr serious problem is about the roommates. they do not clean the kitchen after using it and we fight for this many times. one of them take a friend to her room and live for more than four months. leave the residue on cooker, floor, everywhere and i have to clean it everyday. also, nobody even throw the rubbish and wait me to throw it. when i talk to them, they said it is just three months and u do not have to worry about us. i have to tolerate them for one year. hope u can give more suggestions or make rules of kitchen cleaning and if they do not clean then you have some punishment like deducting the money.
The halls are generally quite nice the kitchen/living room area is modern but the cupboards keep breaking so must be low quality. Around 20 minute walk to the university but there are shuttle buses which are quite useful. Probably not for you if you plan to study dentistry as it's a half an hour walk to the dental hospital on sauchiehall street and you spend alot of time in there. Not located in the nicest of areas either. Also quite expensive as you pay £599 per month.
While the rooms are much nicer than Murano, the bathrooms are en-suites but tiny and hard to keep clean and I'd honestly prefer a shared bathroom. I have found it very difficult to meet people here and honestly wish I'd chosen murano. Moral of the story - if you like drinking and going out / socialising, CHOOSE MURANO. however Firhill is great for those who prefer the more relaxed atmosphere without loud music etc.
Overall I can't complain. The rooms are not as modern as the rest of the flat however the kitchen is lovely. It's about a 20 minute walk to Glasgow university and an hour into town. The staff are lovely and always amazingly helpful. There is a lot of noise from people in the smoking area.
Great halls, however are a few issues. It is located right next to the partick thistle football ground, meaning that every so often you get an afternoon of loud noises and crowds around the building. Hasn't bothered me as much as expected though. Location is okay; a little bit of a trek to the uni (especially for 9ams when it is raining) but they do run a small shuttle bus every 20 minutes which can be a life saver. TVs do not work at all. They told us they would be fixed and now, 12 weeks on they have not been. Signal is shocking, meaning it is frustrating to try and watch everything. Very annoying seeing as the tv licence is included in the cost. Other than that, friendly staff, great atmosphere, very close to lidl and tesco which is great.
