Well where can I start? At first, I THOUGHT this place as nice to live in, I had a friend who lived here last year and I visited their place many times, it seemed alright, so I decided t get a place here for my second year of study. I think I got the worst room ever. For one, my window is a lot longer than other people's, so when it came to the cold months, I go really bad damn at the bottom of my walls by the window. The heater barely heats your room I had to buy a plug in heater. Second, there appears to be a smell of rotting wood/damp by my bed sometimes, this is maybe linked to the shower? when I'm in bed and its really disgusting. thirdly, by my shower there appears to be a corner that looks like it was previously broken, but glued up. I see little tiny insects crawling about there sometimes. Honeslty, you get what you pay for, and I'm living in a silver room ! I would not recommend simply because of my experience. I cannot wait to finish my second year so I can move out of here.
Staying in the second year blocks, lift was broken for months and many had to walk up to 13 flights of stairs to get to room. Staff will do anything to soak up extra money (failing inspections, incurring any extra charge etc.) and VH is situated very near to the 'rough' part of Nottingham. Rooms are mid to low tier, had a broken draw and chair in mine upon entering. Almost no social aspect, flats ignore each other. Would avoid.

Great budget student halls, but had a few problems with maintenance and parcel delivery but overall good halls!
Hi, we are glad you had some positive things to say about our Hall and that you think the maintenance is good. The management team do work very hard and establish good relationships with our tenants even those that like to party hard ;) ? Parties are acceptable and expected, this is after all student accommodation. We would only respond to a noise complaint made by another resident and we are mindful of the timing and noise that may impact on the other residents in the Hall. You are more than welcome to have friends stay over, it is your home, but if a flatmate makes a complaint that you have had friends staying on a more permanent basis, then understandably we have to act on this sort of complaint as it is unfair to your housemates. We try and avoid charges to tenants and give warnings and advice in the first instance to avoid having to raise any charges. Only those repeat offenders that continue to smoke (we are a strictly no smoking site), are unable to tidy up once a month or damage our property would receive any charges. We are two years in to a four year refurbishment programme bringing the hall up to date, we are also introducing free 100mb/s broadband from September.

Victoria halls has been a great place to stay. it was right near my uni and also right in the city center so easy for me to get around and meet friends. i wouldn't say it's decor is great but. it is good value for money !! and i decorated it myself to make it feel like home :) i would recommend it to my friends the staff are funny and easy going and very helpful if you have any problems or concern, they are quick at fixing it for you. Vicy Halls Rocks!!!!
Management is absolutely rubbish. They fine you over anything and everything. Everything is outdated. Maintainance is good though. Friends are only allowed to stay one night. No parties and no loud music. The staff are rude and don't care. (That is a generalisation though, some of them are okayish) all in all i wouldn't recommend Victoria Halls!
Great placement, rooms are quite small TAKE NOTE: They are rubbish at replacing things, and in terms of inspections they occur every month or so and they WILL fail you for anything. Also, they didn't repair our flat door for 2 months despite notice, and consequently a girl got molested by someone who has still not been caught. So yeah. Take what you will from this.
