There are many things to say about Minerva House. 1. My moving in experience was horrible. The staff did not show me around the building and did not tell me how to operate the things in my room. I was also not told that I have to do inventory, and now 2 weeks have passed since the contract began and I'm unable to make any changes. 2. The staff aren't at the reception most of the time, even during their stipulated opening hours. Only the student reps are helpful and it seems like they're doing most of the work. 3. Upon speaking to other students living here as well, I was told that they found many broken/not functional things in their room, like the hobs, the mattress and blinds. Also, do note that not all flats are on lift landings. Some units have a flight of stairs that you must go down before reaching the flat. Not convenient when moving in as you have to carry your boxes/luggage down yourself. The staff will also not help you with that.
The basement has now been turned into an underground public car park. The doors to the building are never closed because the locks are rubbish and people just stroll in whenever they want.
Clean, quiet and perfect for final year students
This is perfect for students who need to get their head down. It's usually quiet and the rooms are big enough to have all the space you need to work in. Love it so far and will keep getting better!
