The worst acc ever. The walls are made of cardbaord and they expect you to maintain pin drop silence. If you clean your bathroom and it annoys your flat mate, they threaten you directly with eviction. The security manager is rude, arrogant and full of attitude. They rob you like crazy for simple things like slightly ruffled carpets and the like. They also hook you up in a legal contract which you cant get out of. The worst experience ever! For all this they charge you over 165£ per week! Only stay if you want to be close to everything good in Manchester. Otherwise, save your money and never stay here.
The staff are unhelpful and absolutely unconcerned of any problems! I was viciously attacked by my flatmate, he strangled me in my room when I got back from work. He was on drugs and he also broke the door and put holes in the wall, I was terrified and UNITE STUDENTS DID NOTHING ABOUT THIS! As soon as it happened I showed them the marks on my neck and provided them with further evidence and NOTHING, HE GOT AWAY WITH IT! I had to live there with eyes in the back of my head. You have to completely fend for yourself, the rule here is if staff don’t see it or if it isn’t on CCTV then it didn’t happen (applying to everything), I was told this by the managers themselves so you need to seriously consider this and your safety when looking at this property. The actual flat itself looks nothing at all like the show flat, the windows are filthy on the outside, in my room the skirting boards are turning black, the rooms are maintained poorly. The walls are paper thin. I’m just scratching the surface… AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
As a customer of unite students, I highly recommend u to choose another accommodation. Service here sucks, wifi crash so often, facilities include laundry machine, lift crash almost everyday and no one ever gonna fix it. Staffs here are lazy. Reception close most of the time with no explanation while it is supposed to be opened, makes it extremely hard to report maintenance problem and collect package. Even if u reported problems, small problem like faulty light bulb takes at least on day to fix, and they are not going to care about your lighting problem at night. Big problems like broken chair takes forever. I reported my broken chair of my room and it is still not fixed. People here party till night and smoke in the kitchen and no staff is going check or give a damn. Cleaning team will give ridiculous reason like 'your kitchen is not clean enough to clean' and not clean it for you.
After spending my first year of university staying here I would not recommend! Firstly the staff are very friendly and helpful, however there is a mice problem. As our flat did get a nice infestation. We alerted reception of this and they didn't seem overly bothered, meaning we had to contantly contact an outside team to get someone in to remove the problem. The bedrooms are fine no problem at all, the kitchen and Lounge is rather out dated and full of stains. After choosing not to stay there most nights as it felt unclean and unsanitary with the mice problem, this was a complete waste of money. To finish the yeah an early tenancy agreement was offered in exchange for £100. As I accepted this offer and was out the day after receiving the email alerting me to the offer. I was guaranteed at reception I would receive this money as only around 10 people had accepted this offer. I then later got an email to say I was not accepted due to being too many people doing this offer. I am convinced this was a con! As 5 other people I know who also did this also received the email saying they were unable to get the money. I contacted parkway gate straight away and they seemed very prepared and said that i could receive the money. For this many people to not be accepted it is clearly a way to get people out of them rooms early. Don't even waste your time by going there!!
