St James Street, Portsmouth

Collegiate as a company are EXTREMELY unhelpful. I have lived here while on placement and while Portsmouth is a fantastic place St James Street is certainly the worst place I have ever lived. If you have any problem or question outside of their business hours, forget it. Even the emergency line for the out of hours issues is unhelpful; that is if you are even able to get through to them. The 'emergency' number will make you wait on hold for over an hour so never need anything from this company outside of 9-5 mon- fri. The safety measures in this building are quite concerning due to the fact that are are next to no safety measures; I would be very surprised if the alleged CCTV did work. The building is also falling apart. If you live here and it rains expect to be tripping over buckets of rain water in the hallways as there are holes in the ceiling for rain to come in. There are no fire safety procedures either and nothing is provided to residents in case of a fire. No fire blankets or extinguishers exist in this building and fire doors are never closed. You will also never be allowed to submit a noise complaint and the collegiate team will probably just gaslight you until you give up and buy earplugs; they certainly won't help you. There are no quiet hours in this building. If you live here expect none of the appliances to work and expect to never have any accountability towards the company who owns the building. There is also no service in the building and the wifi is spotty. I have asked for help with various issues and the management team have been less than helpful to the point where its a waste of time to even reach out to them. I think a lot of issues I could have looked past if it weren't for how awful the management team has been. If this is your last option, at least the location is nice.
