Well, iQ Salford is definitely a nice place to live whilst your studying at uni. With leather couches, a great widescreen TV and fridge/freezer the lounge/kitchen is usually the common hangout for all flatmates and you will find yourself in there more than your actual room! Rooms are a great size and the beds are really comfy! When I was looking at reviews for iQ originally various people said that the curtains in the bedrooms where terrible and let light in. This is not the case and the curtains do completely black out the sun so you can stay in bed all day when your out on the town the night before. The "Hub" i can't actually say I have used much. Coming to iQ I expected there to be events on there every other week where you could socialise and meet the rest of the people who are in the complex but it turns out there is 1 event every other month or so and about 3/4 in the whole 9 months I lived there... That could be improved to roughly 1/2 a month. Honestly can not fault the staff in the office. If you need anything all you need to do is ask them and they will get it sorted no problem! They are all friendly and also signing for your parcels it helps so much in case your at uni when your package comes! The only downside that I have about iQ is that it was advertised as "safe and secure". Although it is rather safe, the pedestrian gate really does need to be fixed or even instead of repairing it several times just buy a new one with something where the parts wont be obsolete within a year or so. Salford is not the safest of places in general and this was shown when various bad lads where gaining access into the complex over the fences to attempt to steal bikes, apparently one was actually stolen by a guy in my block and I don't believe that he got this back or received compensation. The "Security Guard" is a little bit pointless as no one seems to listen to him. If you have a genuine noise complaint all as he will do is come and tell you to turn it down. The people in the block next to me where at it every other night and in the end I gave up ringing him because nothing was ever done about it. And I know that I was not the only one reporting him either. Overall iQ is a really nice place to live. Besides the security aspects and the activities in the Hub that could be a little bit more of, I genuinely can not say a bad word about the place. I recommend it!

iQ is great, although a little on the expensive side for halls in salford, you're getting what you paid for. Although at times the staff are a little slow with regards to maintenance requests, the quality of the rooms and facilities make up for it. The on site gym is small but well equiped, the social hub is okay for watching any sky channels, however the laundry facilities are at times unpredictable and a little overpriced. Don't let any of this put you off living there though, it is by far one of the best halls to live in in Salford, exactly what you'd expect for the high prices you pay.

IQ is a perfect place to live, especially if you are a fresher! Great atmosphere and there are regular social events held by the staff here. Spacious bedrooms with ensuite. Very close to campus as it's just a 5/10 minute walk away. I would 100% recommend this anyone and I've already rebooked for next year! :)
