Standard Room, didnt get a 3/4 bed as advertised it was a single. Security is bad often the doors to the premises are propped open so anybody can get in. Wifi can be on and off at times. Reported on numerous occassion being able to smell illegal drugs and nothing has been sorted throughout the whole year. Locations is the best thing about the place.
Overall I've enjoyed living here and met some good friends however anyone can enter as most doors either don't lock or can be pulled/pushed open with a bit of force. Paying £600+ for parking my car is just ridiculous and ultimately a rip off as many days it's unlikely I'll even get a space, especially during the day when the staff and contractors are here. It is very expensive and would not say it's worth it even though I do enjoy living here. Recommended for a good time and if you're well off financially.
Constant fire alarms at 3am, you must always take the stairs unless you want to be trapped in a broken lift for about 2-3 hours. No doors are EVER locked, full access from anybody. Flat parties from 9pm-6am every other day (not too bad unless you're the person who has to be up for a 9am lecture). Thin walls, lazy cleaners, oh, and if you have a car and are thinking about that £ 600 car parking space, don't, unless you want your car to have puke on it alternate weeks. Overall, nice location and rooms are nice but the students and the management give no ***** about anyone. Choose Aston accommodation, they have more than one security guard.
Good customer service - Good maintenance service - Value for money
.
I like the location of the heights as it is a 15 minute walk from the city centre and very close to the universities. However, when i arrived, the microwave, ironing board and one of the bedroom windows was broken so you could feel a draft coming in. The sink also leaks. The staff take a very long time to fix the issues. Also, I have made multiple noise complaints from the room above me and I have struggled to sleep at night. The quality at this accommodation is very poor and for one of the cheaper places offered by unite, it definitely shows. It has overall been a bad experience so far for my first year and i would not stay here another year.
Good area, good security, spacious rooms.
The staff are friendly. Complaints are dealt with fast. Rooms are worth the price.
It's a cheap accommodation however there always seems to have some sort of maintenance problems in the flat. Wifi connection is a problem, either it works extremely slow or you have no connection at all. Location of The Heights is good, Aston Uni and BCU is walking distance and also the city centre and train station. There is better types of accommodation out there, just look for them :)
