I have stayed in both student accommodations in this area. This one is hands down the best and the people are great.
Location by the canal is great, rooms are extremely large in comparison to what I have seen at my friends residencies. The new manager is super cool and does things I asked without delays(got me new bed matress on the same day) Sweet Friday's with food provided are nice start of the weekend also. I rebooked for next year.
I have been a resident here since September, we had a hot water issue for few weeks but management provided alternative accommodation which was a bit inconvient but nice for change. Overall, I think the place is nice, has a nice garden for evening beers, large common room and in comparison to my old accommodation studios are huge. The bus stop is 1 minute away, Portobello rd is 5 min walk. Management team is cool and approachable.
The staff was very helpful when questions arose or problems occured. I typically have problems with mattresses or carpets in any room I stay. The manager helped me with the delivery of a new mattress for me, and was very responsive with problems related to my allergy. The flat all in all was quite clean, although not to a `German` standard. The nearby Westbourne park and the river next to it is quite nice for walks etc, however I would recommend taking the walk home through the city at night. Some of the rooms have a very nice view on the river just crossing the house. Groceries are very close by. Price is quite good for the quality.
Highly recommend. Had an amazing year and met loads of people.
Its been a wonderful stay! Stylish, comfortable rooms and reliable facilities - and at a great price.
overall really good! management team is very good at informing when have packages and if there is any problems they are sorted straight away. everyone is incredibly friendly. living next to a busy road is difficult to cross sometimes, and the gate isn't always locked so anyone could really come in but safety of our rooms is very good. very modern rooms with lots of storage space which is great. the rent is a lot though, and the amount of weeks we can only get (51) is a lot, should offer shorter tenancy period! but all in all, really really happy with this accommodation.
I've been in Garrow House for almost 3 years. Throughout my time here, I've always been greeted by friendly staff. Any problems would be taken notice and dealt with as soon as possible. The rooms here are also great for its prices. It's also located within Notting Hill where there is an variety of activities for you to immerse yourself in. On the weekends, you have the chance to visit Portobello Market where there's amazing street food and numerous talented buskers for you to watch and listen to while you're enjoying your meal. And all of this is only a 5 min walk from Garrow House.

Garrow House Accommodation it is one of the safest and value for money locations. The management is friendly and very open for suggestions in order to make their premises more fun by combining either weekly bootcamps or pizza parties. It is definetely worth the money in contrast to other studios I have seen, specifically my room has massive windows which brings a positive vibe in my room whenever the sun is shining. Also is very close to Portobello road market, Notting Hill Gate and a Sainsburys supermarket. If you are an Imperial student this location will be ideal for you as is close to the three main campuses.
Great size for the money you pay.
Worst place I've ever lived. The staff are SO rude and inefficient. I've had issues with this room ever since I've moved in. Firstly, the stove was broken and i asked them to fix it which didn't get resolved for a week so I had to spend loads of money eating out because I couldn't cook. Then my toilet flush was broken so it didn't flush anything down, which again I mentioned and it didn't get resolved for over two weeks. It was extremely unhygienic, unsanitary and disgusting. Then when i discovered mice in my room, this was the short straw. I told them about it. They didn't deal with the issue, as per usual, so I decided to deal with it myself. I bought myself a mouse glue trap and found FOUR dead mice the next morning. Absolutely vile. Security refused to chuck it out for me as well. Horrible, horrible staff.
This is my first time staying at Manion and from the beginning I have not had a fun, safe, secure or friendly environment. The students here are unique and fun, however. There is nothing else I would recommend about mansion. When I first moved in security had no idea that I was moving in. Clearly, the management did not tell security or had any paperwork ready for me. Then the manager did not bother to even answer the calls from security to verify me or to find my paperwork. For over an hour I had to wait and find out whether or not my room was even confirmed. Then the best part, the room was filthy. I had to pay a cleaning fee and was guaranteed that my room was clean. When I came in, the Windows were open so the dirt and leaves from outside where inside my room, there were several dead spiders along the desk and the fridge looked like it wasn't clean at all. Overall, not a great first impression. The next day, I had to go downstairs and meet management and when I told my concerns to the manager he looked at me and said "So?" Seriously, the manager did not care about the state of my top, or that there was no paper work or anything ready for me. However, I would have to say the best thing about Mansion is that maintenance here is a complete and utter joke. Every other week I have to put in a maintenance request to get either my shower or sink unclogged. Also, don't believe that mansion actually has an on site maintenance team, there truly isn't one. The only time maintenance comes in is Monday thur Thursday and they only come in on Fridays if it's an emergency. I guess to mansion it doesn't matter that they only have 28 days to fix any of our issues because if it mattered to them or if they bothered to follow their own contract, our lift should have been fixed since the end of January 2016 and it's almost the middle of February and surprise, it's still not fixed. Word of warning, make sure you tour the room you want to book because you can say you want a standard room and get one that is completely not like the one you saw when doing a tour. Also don't believe the photos mansion has of the room on its webpage, that's the show room and not an accurate description really of what you get in your own room. Also, if you are a young person and value your security, you may want to think twice about staying here, I'm sorry but security here is a joke. Lastly, any US students choosing to stay here and want to use loans to pay for your accommodation, be advised that you cannot differ your rent payments because mansion needs to see a timetable on when the loans get released and the US government does not have one. So your only options are to either pay in monthly instalments but you have to pay an instalment fee or pay everything up front.
I've had some of the worst experiences you could imagine here (and i'm speaking as someone who has grown up kinda modestly). I have been waiting over a month for them to fix the plumbing in my room (what goes down the sink goes right back up the shower drain! Nasty!!). Also the lift has been out for 6 weeks with no end in sight. The courtyard advertised has been taped off for 3 months because they won't fix it. The door leading to the bike storage is also half-door size which means it's near impossible to get a bike through (so I've been told, and I've seen other tenants struggle each day!). Showers are notorious for not working in the building as well and the people who run it are some of the most rude, un-accomodating people I've ever met. Not worth the price by any means. You're better off renting privating locally which is about the same price.
Showers are a bit small but you get your own en suite Free sky box in the kitchen Very big social area with sofas and things
