Rude staff (all staffs within the building), espeacially the black big girl with glasses and the black aged man. The man even throw parcels to me, point finger into my face and stare at me. Uncleaned and damaged room before move in (Already reported to the staff and they just teld that they would solve some day - when they have time) Unsecured Fire alarm usually gets noisy at midnight (must be 2-3 times per week at least) Problems with the room (no light, broken door, broken toilette) are solved very slowly (or even not)

Even if you have booked this accommodation for next year please cancel it asap. DO NOT STAY IN IQ CITY even if this is the last place available. Fire alarms is the only thing Thats working here. Lift is not operational, dryers not working so you have to laundry your clothes outside . Management never available on site, it’s only the security team. The parcels get lost and misplaced most of the time. You have to go to the reception again and again to take mailbox keys and return them as they have not provided anyone with their own mailbox keys. Constant noise at night from 2am to 6am and then construction starts from 9am so you’ll never be able to sleep.

I got my room in incredibly dirty condition. I had to clean it myself and I also returned it in the same good condition (I ordered a professional cleaning). And still, they charged me from my deposit which they do not return at all. This is not surprising actually, a lot of tenants experience this problem with Pure City. Try to avoid this place. When I was living there, fire alarm was ringing almost very single day at times like 2 or 6 a.m. sometimes. We asked a lot of times to fix it, and they maybe tried, but it was still going on like this. This thing is INCREDIBLY LOUD and unpleasant to hear. In fact, if you seek a quite place where you can study and sleep normally, Pure City is not for you, because the building is very noisy. People drink and have parties on the ground floor almost every day (certainly every Friday) and management does nothing about it even when they disturb other people (my deepest condolences to people who live on the ground floor). They also don't care much about strangers in halls, I witnessed many times how people were coming without signing in. Also, if you choose Pure City, say hello to the smell of weed. Someone was constantly smoking it on my floor and, guess what, management did nothing about it (apart from veeeery effective "don't smoke weed" emails). Doors in Pure City are also very heavy and people usually don't bother to close them carefully, so they shut with a loud bang which made walls in my room shake every time someone on my floor was doing it. Male management is not friendly at all and they make you feel as if you owe them something. I was uncomfortable every time I needed to ask something. I have no complaints about female workers though, Every lady I interacted with was very polite and resolved my quires quickly and effectively. To sum up, choose this place if you like to suffer and being robbed. If you don't, choose something else and SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Fun/Atmosphere: There is definitely a fun atmosphere to the place, however, you don't want to be walking into the lobby every other day and find the place is left filthy because of people boozing there (which would happen quite occasionally). Once those people are done drinking and have to get to their rooms, there would be a lot of noise in the process. If I recall, there was an email sent out every couple of weeks telling resident to "keep the noise down" and "noise complaints". Safety: There was some safety, yes. But I also recall an email being sent out how there were non-resident passed out in the study area because of excessive drinking the night before leading to the management team closing down the study area at night (at a time when exams were near!). I have no idea how these people managed to stay the night without being seen by the security team. Also, the fire alarm would go off every few hours and it's one of those constantly on alarms not a siren type so it puts you on edge. To top that off, if you were anywhere on the basement, lower ground, or first floor, you were subject to a lot of noise, whether from the courtyard of pure city with the people boozing in the lobby coming out for a smoke, by the street with the cars and trucks during rush hour, or by the own establishments generators that were constantly on. The place was never serenely quiet. Value: Definitely not worth the price. You would look at the pictures on the website and think "wow, spacious and bright" while in reality, they just used a wide angle lens to make the room seem bigger and played around with the lighting on the picture. Also, they state that the rooms are 12-13 sqm but there are a few that are less. The pictures on the website aren't even for the corresponding rooms that they state they are for, the "standard studio" is showing pictures of the best case scenario you could get by choosing that option but they tend to be smaller. The majority of them are less than that and you end up in a small, claustrophobic square where you keep banging against things here and there if you're not a petite person. The beds are not double beds that's for sure (at least mine wasn't) because the double bed sheets I bought were always a good foot bigger than the bed. I was paying nearly 300 pounds a week when I could've opted for private housing and paid waayyyy less (i'm talking about 800 pounds a MONTH and worst case scenario you'd be an extra 5 minutes away by tube - god forbid huh?) Quality of Rooms: when it comes down to it, the furniture isn't IKEA cheap (so that's good) but the rooms are so small that you can't even have guests in them. Now I know why there wasn't much seating placed in the room because it just won't fit (that's how small they are). They could have at least opted for the double stools in the kitchenette maybe. Other than that, the water pressure was too weak for those that find it's important. There also wasn't enough storage space and if I could go back, I'd opt for the room with a view because I felt like I was in a cage between having a really cagey looking window bar, a shaded/tinted glass, and a brick wall behind that...Then again if I could go back I wouldn't have chosen Pure City. Furthermore, the room always felt dark since they went for the cost saving a put in one ceiling light for the entire room when it would've been best to place one above the bed and one above the kitchen. Location: It was probably the only thing that Pure City had going for it, then again it was built by City University and leased to a private company for a short term so it makes sense that it is close to City University. Though city university should reclaim it and manage it really. The place is in Zone 1 of London so you can't go wrong there, close to the university and it's different departments, Camden is also a 20 minute walk away, it is close to major bus routes and good tube stations, as well as shoreditch if you want to party. Then again, if you wanted location, there was Willen House that wasn't too far away (5 mins away from pure city) and I also had friends living in and around pure city in private housing that was way better than my situation (both fiscally and comfort-wise). Management: My Management rating started out high, but then I started to remember a few things here and there that were very annoying and the rating just plummeted down. I remember I had an issue with noise and I contacted management, they said they would work on it however I had to follow up every other week with them to get an update until eventually I had to escalate the issue and directly get involved with the situation. My one issue was the generator right next to my windows (which i'm pretty sure it was pure city's but they said it was the university gym's generator) anyways...There was no progress for several months until I called the maintenance director for City University and complained directly to him that I eventually saw some progress. The worst part was that before I called the maintenance director, the management of pure city told me they were on top of the issue yet, when I talked to the gym (2 months later..) they told me that nobody from pure city contacted them. It made me feel like the management team doesn't really care and just try to get through the year till you get tired and move out on your own...in the end, you signed an iron-clad contract where you're the stooge and they're in the clear. Another thing is that when I would go to management with an issue they'd have that look on their face like, "oh, what is it now!?" to be fair, its not rocket science, its not a multi-billion (even million) dollar company, they're not CEOs, they're a processing department (both administration and front desk) and yet they're having trouble dealing with student's problems. There were probably a few graduate students there that had better qualifications to run the place and that is not an over-statement. The only stressful time is at the beginning and end of the academic year, the rest should be smooth sailing if they don't muck up their own documentation and filing. Though senior management (Mainly James) was very professional in his approach - what happened behind the emails, I have no idea, but he had a friendly and understanding demeanor throughout when communicating. Summary: Not worth it really. You could find better and cheaper housing if you just look for it. Make sure you try early in the year (I understand visas and what-not) but when it comes to private housing, you don't have to pay until much later in the year when you have the visa, but at least secure your place. University of London housing is a great website and if you start early in the year you can find some great deals which I'm regretting not taking. There's also gum-tree and rent-a-flat which are also pretty good just watch out for scams and ask for a video tour/more pictures of the place, that always weeds them out. Also, when you take private housing, it's a monthly contract so you can step out whenever you need to, not have to go through the trouble of finding someone to take over your contract. And if you don't then you still have to fork over the money whether you've given adequate notice period or not (which I believe should be something changed in UK renter's rights but what do I know!?)

They seriously need to sort out the fire alarms. They ring every other day to check whether they are working! And recently there was no light for like 5 hours and they didn't even compensate us in any form! The student body is not as diverse as one would expect. Seriously regret staying in this shxt hole! The only good thing about this place is the location.

Pretty new accommodation and fairly convenient location even that I'm not a student of City Uni. HOWEVER, FIRE ALARM goes like every single or two days and can scared the very **** out of you in the midnight. NO MANAGEMENT AT ALL. There are people who call themselves as management team and hanging around doing god knows what for all days. Washing machines and dryers never work as it supposed to be for more than a week, design of curtain is ridiculous, every room is like a showcase. No clues for emergency like power or water cut off etc. I don't even want to put up examples anymore, makes me furious.

The management here are incredibly rude. The rooms are box-like and the atmosphere and facilities are far from homely. It is like youth detention- only you pay through the nose for the privilege. You could get a mortgage for the amount you pay for the smallest room here. Don't bother.

- The worst experience of my stay was the fact I had bed bugs here. - rooms look nothing like their pictures and was dirty before I arrived. -shower, toilet and sink always blocked and I was not able to use them for long periods. - heating system in room was extremely poor and complicated. The heating manual they gave was trash. - security of the accommodation was very poor, police were onsite on many occasions and I had to even speak to them myself. Doesn't feel safe, anyone can walk in or out at any time. - fire alarm went off about once a day - the walls in the room were very thin and I heard everything my neighbour was doing. - kitchen was hard to share with 15 others, people were smoking in the kitchen and my food was stolen many times. -took months to get my refund back having found a replacement. Found out the staff lost my refund sheet and failed to notify me. I lost hundreds of pounds because of this. Aside from the fact the management team were somewhat helpful, this accommodation is certainly not worth £250+ per week.

Pure City is a great place to live while studying in London. The location is one of the best because it is literally a 7-8 minute walk to my university and a 1 minute walk to the gym. Quality of the rooms are pretty good, compared to what else is around London. They are modern, chic and clean. You can tell effort went into utilizing the small space as much as possible to better assist our needs. I feel safe and secure at Pure City which is a big thing for me. The staff are really great as well. Many of them go the extra mile to make you feel at home. I especially enjoy seeing Aline and Melanie around Pure City - always beaming with a smile and ready to have a laugh with. They are always putting on events year around to create a certain community amongst all tenants which is really appreciated. Overall, I would recommend Pure City for anyone looking for a place to stay in this area of London.

The building is situated in a very convenient position, very close to both Cass and City Universities and Old Street and Barbican stations. The staff is very friendly and cooperative and management really puts a great effort to run the place well.

The location is very convenient to my uni (city university), it only takes around 5-8 mins by walk And its in the middle of both Barbican and old street station. Stuffs in this accommodation are also very friendly, they always will help you with any problems within the accommodation( shout out to Aline particularly )

Life at pure city is great! The location is so central and everything you need is close by! The staff is friendly and with Aline and Melanie, there's never a dull moment at Pure! ???? Always ready to assist in whatever way they can, it's a comfortable and enjoyable environment living here! The rooms are also new and homely. I would definitively recommended pure city to everyone!

Management really goes out of their way to ensue that you feel like youre in a home away from home. Its an ideally located residence with service friendly staff. The building itself is new, a song and a half away from my uni and 1 min away from the gym ( yes i took that idea from another comment but i wanted to reinforce it) I would certainly repeat the experience due to how well i feel living here. This is my masters year and i havenperviously lived in 2 different student halls previously. Trust me i know what im talking about.

I am glad that i choose pure city as my student accommodation. The most friendly and helpful staff that will make your stay very comfortable. They have all the modern day facilities anyone would require to have a pleasant stay.

I was really excited about staying here. I am an international student and was only able to look at the pictures before committing to this place and I very much regret it. I have just the basic ensuite and it's very small. I have about two and a half feet from the side of my desk to the bed. The bathroom drains always seem to have a funky smell coming from them. However, there is a decent amount of storage in the bathroom. Online it advertised bedding was provided along with kitchen utensils (this was the big selling point to be honest) and when I got here they told me they changed that, students now need to provide those themselves, and they hadn't gotten around to updating the website. Being that I only have an ensuite I share a kitchen, doesn't sound like a big deal right? Wrong these kitchens are shared with FIFTEEN other people and is only cleaned twice a week. Unfortunately for me there is about five individuals who never clean up after themselves and leave dirty dishes and wrappers all over the place. After about 9 pm almost every night those same guys invite all their friends who live in the building down to our shared kitchen to be loud and obnoxious and messy until about 2 am. The activities taking place in the shared hallways/ kitchen include but are not limited to, soccer, cricket, and poker. If sleep is important to you, I promise you won't be getting much of it here. Despite multiple complaints the most management will do is send out an email to all residents reminding them of the tenancy agreement. BIG FRICKIN WHOOP that does nothing. This place is its own little special HELL ON EARTH!!!! on the plus side, they did provide free popcorn one day. Take away: Stay far away from here, if you like the area Willen House is a better alternative

Love my time here. Have been staying here for 3 years and experience was absolutely amazing. Really nice atmosphere, Aline and Mel are always fun and helpful. Aziz greets you in the morning and always talks to you. There are plenty of social events organised in the common room, which makes your stay even more fun and enjoyable.

At the heart of central London, Pure city sits close to some of the top locations in London. Besides the amazing location, the halls are always lively and also safe! Also, the team - especially, Mel, Aziz, Aline, is probably one of the friendliest committees ever seen in a student hall! They are always up for organizing entairtaining events during special occassions, and are very understanding of student concerns! Finally, pure city has been my student experience ever so memorable for the last three years! #BestStudentHallInLondon

This student accommodation is in a very central location. Close to City University with grocery and restaurants nearby . The staff (especially Aline and Mel) is very personal and knows you by name. They try to go the extra mile for you when there is an issue.

Pure City is a great place for student who is studying in London. The location is very good that it is easy to access public transport and to explore London. There is only a walking distance to Barbican Station and Old Street Station; if you want, u can also walk to Farringdon Station. The Barbican Centre is near to Pure City, where you enjoy numerous exhibitions and great shows. The management team of Pure City is so great. They are very nice and kind people. In my experience, they are all very keen on helping students and dedicated to improve residents' living experience. There are many activities organised by the team through the whole year; some of the activities are really creative and interesting, for example the dating event on Valentines day. The building and facilities are very new, and there is a dedicated maintenance team to look after them. Believe me, choosing to live in Pure City will be a great choice.

Excellent and friendly staff especially Aline, Mel and Aziz. Super good location and super safe, best neighbourhood and convenient when using public transport. Rooms are nice and accommodation is new so it's still clean, and maintenance is super helpful when needed!

After living at Pure City for almost a year, I have found it to be a very safe and comfortable student accommodation. Both the staff and students are amazing and make you feel right at home. I have found Aline to be such an amazing part of the staff and she is my personal favorite seeing that she has been helpful and kind right from the moment I met her. I rate Pure City for its overall atmosphere and the quality of this accommodation really is 5 stars!!!!

Aline, Aziz, and Mel are very hospitable. It's amazing to see them every morning before going to the university and your mood gets lifted immediately.

At first glance, the accommodation is great but like any places, things and people, you can start picking on the pros and cons. The facilities are good compared to the many places that I've saw. The staffs are kind and very friendly, especially Aline, Mel and Azis. Love them to bits. The price is alright considering the location. Management has improved considering a lot of change in managements. Thank you for making it a bit more stable. ANDDD here comes the first wave, security. I've witnessed lots of fights breaking off and access of, for lack of a better word, strangers, in this building can improve a lot more. Not limiting to friends of residents of course. Is it the lack of policies, too much freedom or low wages.. Too many domestic violence, too many midnight cops and whatever happens when I'm not here to witness it. It has improved since but maybe a little too late? Look at security policies in Chapter Spitalfields. Their securities are on point. Second wave. Dirtiness. Inside the building is spotless. I mean the communal area INSIDE the building but OUTSIDE is a different story. When it comes to the smoking area where access to the garbage truck is the same area for those smokers, it smells. Even when it is cleaned (or allegedly), it still smells. Cudos to them for confronting the problem and cleaning it. Should I blame the garbage trucks for not being precise, the cleaners for not doing their job or the bad drainage system under the floor..? Maybe the latter. Please fix it. Third wave relating to the second one, rodents.. Of course I understand, you're in London and you're never 2 feet away from a rat. Putting lots of rat trappers will not solve the situation. They will still appear as long as they have things/foods to feed on.. But yes, I did enjoy my time with this accommodation, friendly people and if I overlook the bad parts; May being the new PM; and Boris being the foreign minister, the accommodation is good!

Overall it's acceptable, although security levels could be much better, as almost everyone can come in and then is when problems happen. When it comes to laundry services, is not normal to only have 10 washers and 10 dryers for almost 900 people living at Pure. The location is pretty good, the borough is safe and the quality of the studios is okay.

Pure city according to me was the worst decisions of my uni life. Showers are not hot, I can't open my curtains cause I stay on the ground floor facing the road, the management doesn't provide a Hoover to use (basically can't clean your room coz buying a Hoover is expensive), kitchen can't fit 10 and I share it with 15 people. You share 1 fridge with 15 people, 1 freezer with 15 people, 1 oven with 15 people. But has good facilities like a screening room. If you want to suffer then sure, I can recommend the place to you.

Pure City is a great place to live, not least through the location and security, but because the staff are constantly available and always there to help with anything from sorting your room out or rebooking! Melanie and Stacey try their hardest and genuinely want people to have fun while they live here, hence the number of events that take place here year round. You can't go wrong in living here!

It's really close to my university, it's also easy to walk to the university, as it's only takes up to 5 minutes. Nice apartments, security working 24/7. I would highly recommend to stay at pure city living.

This is my first year in London, so i was looking for accommodation with famous brand name, which refers to good quality and with good location in order to walk to university. After making enormous research I came up with Pure City and found some friends who live in there who told me that it is the best option and they didn't lie. Atmosphere in Pure City is quite warm and friendly. Furthermore, staff members are always ready to help in any emergencies, which even might not be linked to accommodation itself.

I have enjoyed living at Pure City so far! The staff is super nice and they always give you a smile when you come in after a stressful day at uni or when you leave the house in the morning to begin your stressful day. They have always helped me with any issues straight away and are always open for a nice little chat. The rooms are great as well, even though there is not as much space for living as I wish sometimes, but thats why we can always come down to the lobby. There is always something going on at Pure City and everyone is super friendly! I have made some amazing friends here and am considering staying another year! Go team Pure City!!!! Ps please work on the fire alarms though!!

Good staff, effective. Work out any issues residents may have very quickly. Great location in the center of London. The studio are modern, and cosy. Although, I experienced some issue about the fire alarm. It is ringing quite few times during the week. Overall, it's a good place to live, but very pricey as the price has gone up these 2 past year.

Ive been living in prure student living since last sept and in comparison to the all 3 accommodation I've lived this the best so far. The staff are really helpful, warm and kind... defiantly the best part of living here

Pure city is the place to stay if you are a students and you are looking for friends. The staff is very friendly and they take care of you and your needs! I am overall satisfied with what I am received and I received. It is expensive but the economic costs are outweight from the benefits pure gives to you.

The first good thing about this student Accommodation Hall is the Location. Close to City University and other central universities. Of course fascinating places like Angel and shoreditch are nearby as well.

The staff are very kind and so resourceful. I enjoy chatting with them and their smiles at the door help add to the homey vibe every time you come in or go out. I have friends in other halls nearby and Pure City is by far the most modern and vibrant. Mel is always organizing great social events and decorating for the holidays. Makes you feel like you are back in your dorm hall of undergraduate studies. Both the staff and security are always going out of their way to make you feel at ease and safe. You can print downstairs, get dry cleaning down, or hang out watch tv and play pool. It is literally a lounge that you can go comfy in your down time when you want to socialize or just chill for a study break. Or if you need to get some work done, there are MAC desktops you can work on and tables people often just bring their laptops to study at.

The accommodation is in a prime location of London, easy access to transport and markets. The staff are very friendly and helpful in nature. My experience of Pure City will be always fresh in mind.

Pure City is a fabulous place to live, nice rooms, good atmosphere, and entertaining common-rooms. I like the movie theater a lot. I also like that I can play pool. The people in the reception is also very polite, and customer oriented as well as problem solving. The rest of the employees at pure city are friendly, funny and always up for a chat which makes my days a lot better!

As an international student, I had no idea where to live in London as I was looking for accommodations. Pure City was a great option as it close to my school and is very conveniently located in the City of London. It's bustling during the week but calm during the weekends. There are multiple public transportation systems very close by which makes it easy to get anywhere in London you may want to go. I am glad I chose to live here because the staff is very nice and helpful and the facilities are new, which really makes all the difference! Also, my friends living in other halls, or subletting flats around London, complain about security/maintenance issues that I never have a problem with. Living in Pure City is a great choice you won't regret :)

This is my second year here at Pure City. I have loved every bit of my stay here. I had an unfortunate experience with my room which needed immediate attention. The staff were really helpful and efficient in dealing with the situation.

Pure City has several advantages over other residential vicinity that are around the EC1V area. Being an international student, safety was a priority for me. This place is very safe. The management is very friendly and welcoming. There is on-duty personnel 24/7. It is expensive but considering the location, it is well worth it. It has two tube stations at walking distance.

The place is very well located, especially for city university and cass business school students (each a mere 5 min walk away). The rooms and the common area are spacious and new, with all basic amenities provided as standard. The reception staff and the rest of the management is friendly and helpful in nature. Over all a great place to live !

The location is perfect - it's only 5 mins walk from City Uni and Cass Business School. Also, City Sports is just a 1 min walk. The rooms are big, clean and almost is new. The best thing about the building is the management/staff who are very cooperative and are always there to solve any issues/problems. It is ideal for international students who don't know London well as it is centrally located and 5 mins walk from Barbican station. Overall great experience! Would surely recommend to other students.

I stayed here 2 years for a reason

On arrival my room was uncleaned and staff were unhelpful in resolving the issue. No one checks ID of guests and security gates left open. Great location for the city centre and Barts and London school of medicine. Room is very modern and clean. However, it took management two weeks to get my microwave oven fixed & i was left without cooking facilities. I had to email the manager to get it fixed. Social events happen but tend to be poorly advertised with few people coming.

Amazing Staff!!! Management willing to sit down and work out any issues residents may have, and respond as fast as possible to issues. Great location for City University students, walking distance. Modern style flats. All student accommodation, ideal for international students who don't know London well. Centrally located. Security 24/7 very helpful and safe environment. Islington is a great area close to Barbican station. Lots of cafes, pubs, and shops. Overall great experience as a year long student living in London! Would recommend to other students! This is the perfect place to live for me, as it is a 5 min walk from my uni and a 1 min walk from my gym. The rooms are big enough, clean and everything is new.
