Very good studios for couples. Very close to everything. Management leaves something to be desired. Questionable changing of prices. Rooms are spacious and equipped with everything needed. Very cosy. Amazing view of the cathedral. Good postal service. On site shop is handy, a little expensive. Amenities are all very close. Would definitely recommend.

I wasn't there that much as I was mostly around other people's houses, but the facilities are good (minus the washing room). The staff are friendly, very clear and simple about their rules., I had a load of complications at the beginning of my contract, as they demanded two weeks rent straight away, without notifying me prior to the start of the agreement, so there can be hiccups. They weren't understanding about that situation at all, so after a 3 hour journey and 4 hour queue to get keys, I had to head home and find the money. I found this annoying as I read ALL of the terms and conditions beforehand and there wasn't anything mentioned about two weeks rent upfront. Overall, it is a nice place, very close to the uni and morrisons. People can be quite rowdy at night, but you can expect that from any kind of hall.
As a fresher I would say that this would be the best accommadation for you to live in. It is very expensive compared to others but I would say it makes the first year a bit easier. The staff are all very friendly and ready to help with anything you need. There is security 24/7 so if you've lost your keys on a night out you can call and they can help let you in. It's a good community you'll easily meet people that you will like, you'll probably meet them at the designated smoking areas. The website says it's close to ASDA but don't be fooled it's an ASDA Living, the real one is very far away. However there is a Morrisons 5 minutes away and a small Londis shop as well if you don't want to walk that far. Ordering things is great as reception will sign for you and then email you when the parcel is there. With maintenance they are good. Every time there's been a problem in my room they've fixed it the next day. It's about a 20 minute walk from town but will feel much longer after a night out but it is quite close to all the lecture halls so you won't have to wake up too early. They've always revamped reception and added a common area and they are upgrading all the washing machines so that is great for you guys entering in 2015. Washing does cost you money but it's not too bad as the machines are so big you can share your washing with a friend and just take turns paying like I do. It can get quite loud at night but it make senses as it is mainly freshers who live there and they often do go out quite a lot The kitchen area and communal space is quite nice and big. Having the TV is an added bonus as well which a lot of other accommodations don'[t have. You'll end up going to a lot of pre drinks in Pavs the first month and you'll meet a lot of people who live there. The university gym is quite close as well if you're into that sort of thing Overall I'd say it is the best choice for first year living but it is quite expensive so don't be surprised if your whole loan is gone after paying rent.
Very safe property with lots of security you can ring if necessary. Reception is very helpful to solving problems quickly and can help with anything you need help with. An extremely good location close to various supermarkets, shopping areas which provide you with a variety of different types of supplies you could possible need. Everything is in walking distance e.g the town centre the university, the sports centre and the clubs and bars. Right next to a small shop called Londis which is very handy and useful when needed for picking up a few items quickly. It is very easy to make friends and meet new people because all the flats are very close together on the floor so you bump into people a lot and there are many opportunities to introduce yourself. If you had any major issues with flat members there is the option to ask to change flats to a different one. My flat members in particular were extremely lovely and I got to know most of the people in my block and floor. In relation to value you get access to a television when many student accommodations do not offer, all necessary cleaning equipment and all necessary bedroom and kitchen furniture. Bills are all included, maintenance and security. I would say it is fairly pricey for what you actually get it seemed very expensive especially as you do go home through summer and still have to pay and the quality of the rooms were not as good as they could be. One major issue which you would get with most student villages anyway is the noise levels pavilions is very echoey and noises can be heard of students all through the night at most times coming back from nights out, shouting, or playing music so you need to be aware of that! You could however specifically ask to be put in a quieter place if this would be an issue for you. Recently reception has been refurbished and they've moved reception and redesigned it which had made a massive difference and they are building a common room which I'm sure will be very beneficial and good to socialise in. The Pavilions staff members are extremely friendly and very cooperative they are easy to get along with too. When I personally first arrived the accommodation was not in immaculate condition my toilet and taps were not in working condition so had to get them fixed, shower was a bit mouldy and the upkeep of the flat had some general issues such as broken freezer drawers, marks, cuts and scrapes on the ceilings and floors. Maintenance are very efficient however they do take a very long time to respond to the form once you've said something is wrong and can sometimes not complete their jobs properly! Although they are friendly and helpful.
I've stayed here for two years, one of them in a joint studio with my girlfriend. Pavilions were brilliant with me being able to tell them if she was coming up or not (dependant on UCAS). Maintenance are always quick and friendly. They will always have a chat with you while conducting maintenance if you are in. My first year i had major problems with one of my rooms, the maintenance team in all fairness continued to try and fix the problem for 6 weeks. They moved me to another room for the time they were fixing it and gave me some money back for the hastle. I would never get that kind of treatment from a house/private dealer. You essentially get what you pay for and with all the renovations they are making this year it will be even better next year. Whenever you walk through pavilions you never feel unsafe etc, its perfect for Freshers and second years alike.
Pavilions is nice but for the price you pay it is no where near worth it! When we moved into my flat we had so many things wrong for example missing Hoover, broken window(very dangerous!) broken grill, broken dishwasher etc. The fridge was even broken and we didn't get a new one until March time. I would never stay in pavilions again, if I had to do first year over again I would probably live in courts, it's more of a party/social accommodation than pavilions and it's nice and much much cheaper!!! The location of pavs is great though especially if your doing sport or chemistry.
maintenance always carried out quickly, never felt unsafe, location is close to the uni but slightly far away from the rest of town. Rooms are pretty standard for student accommodation - en suites are a must!
