I'm a current resident living here at The Arcade. The site itself is based on Holloway Road which is very easy access into central London as buses are very frequent and the tube station is only a few minutes away. The site has a warm and friendly atmosphere, all residents say hello to each other in the corridors. Site team are available 24/7, the staff here are so friendly and are always happy to have a chat with you. For the price you pay compared to the local competitors, The Arcade is great value for money :)

I had a relatively good experience. The room sizes are okay, location is excellent, management is ace aswell, especially Bev and Margaret who always made me feel welcome. Security was always there 24/7 and I was able to get a reference from management so I could move into my new place. I recommend this accommodation for the reasonable price.

I have lived at The Arcade for the past year and have recently moved out. The rooms themselves are perfectly nice although I feel that the marketing of the place is misleading. As I was unable to come and view the place before hand I had only seen the pictures of the kitchen and bathrooms which are made to look a lot better than they are in reality, which to be honest are pretty grimy and run down. I lived on the first floor, directly above the bar which you are also not properly informed about before you move in. It feels as though you may as well be in the bar it's so loud- although I am a very social person, I did not appreciate being kept up until 3:30am weekly on live rock night. Additionally, the extractor fan from the bar is on about 50% of the time every single of the day which drove me to absolute insanity on occasion. We also had a mice problem which we told management to which their reply was 'we've never had mice here before' and they only believed there was mice problem and addressed the issue when the whole of the first floor also had mice.

The rooms are considered cheap, for the location. You are in close proximity to banks, shops and restaurants. Also, as it is on the piccadilly line, travelling to the airport would be considered easy apart from the 7 min walk to the accommodation. Overall, the area is really safe with very friendly people. Most of all, the management is very helpful and sorts out any problems that may arise. It is recommended to stay on the 6th floor, as it is quiet and cleaner. The kitchen and toilets are cleaned weekly. So the flats are always clean. I have stayed at this accommodation for 3 years, and it has been lovely.
It's a very nice accommodation with friendly stuff always ready to help. The location is amazing and it's really affordable , this is my second year staying at the Arcade. Strongly recommend!
When looking around you have to keep in mind its london and theres a standard. For price, this is incredible, since most places ask you to pay more than is possible. Its actually nice and quiet, but there is a pub next door if you want the party atmosphere with live music. The location is incredibly central, and for the price it makes it even better. Every shop and takeaway you can think of literally across the road. Busses to take you everywhere that run 24/7. After having a bad experience in another flat, like most people do in london, just makes this even better.
Hi, I have been living here during the last two years. In my first year of stay it was so disappointing that although the manager was friendly, he was not really helpful or even caring, very noisy and dirty so I was not really satisfied!!!! Since we got a new manager, it turned to be the best place I have ever lived in London so far as a student!!!!! All the staff are SOOOO POLITE, NICE, FRIENDLY,HELPFUL and VERY CARING!!!! We had a few technical electrical issues which they fixed it very quickly!!! one of them was fixed within an hour or two, I don't think I would have been able or even had time to do it if I were in a shared flat! We have a cute little breakfast table every 5 days of the week, this is just so good to be able to have a quick breakfast when u have no time to prepare it for yourself

The Arcade is perfect for student accommodation. Firstly, it is ideal for sharing with friends since the rooms are identical in size and have excellent storage. The kitchen is generously spacious and ideal for socialising (there is a TV!) Secondly, the staff are wonderful. The Manager Paul has been welcoming from the start and we really appreciate all of his hard work. Coming home on a Friday evening is a particular treat because the cleaners make the flat sparkle. The maintenance team are so reliable, fixing anything quickly and safely. The security team also make the whole building feel safe and secure. The location of the Arcade is fantastic since it is on the main road and only a 10 minute walk to Lidl. You can walk to UCL in 45 minutes which is just great exercise- or you can get the bus from the doorstep! All in all this is extraordinary value for money and the management make it even more special. I am so glad to be staying here.

I stayed here for the academic year of 2015/2016. And found the location to be perfect for commuting to work and university, it is also a short walk away from the clubs and night life of Camden with quick and efficient buses there and back all night. The atmosphere of the building was fun and friendly with something always going on. But I would say that the real selling point was the helpful and genuinely caring staff. I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs somewhere to live in London.

I am happy with stay here. The rooms are on the small side but have a good work area; comfortable bed; Good shower with toilet outside. Easy access to major transport routes; the management team is very friendly too.
I have been a resident at the Arcade student hall for 4 years now and I am very happy. Most importantly I feel there is a cosy atmosphere and the staff is very friendly, I feel that they care about me and look after me. I feel I have a comfortable place to call home here, the kitchen is beautiful and there is a laundrette available 24/7. I also feel safe due to the location and the 24/7 security, which I think is very important in London. Also there are night buses that leave you right opposite the hall, so you don't have to walk home at night. I feel that the rent is very reasonable for central London. Overall I feel I have stayed here for so long because it is a very cosy atmosphere and I feel less lonely (my family is all abroad), the staff is lovely and care about me and I feel very safe and comfortable here. Hello, I am sorry to read about your negative review of our residence and that your expectations were not met during your stay here. I took over as manager three months ago and both the team and myself are working hard to improve the level of service given to residents. Regarding some of your comments, we recognise that there have been historical issues regarding the Wi-Fi and laundry. Because of this, there are improvements on the way including the Wi-Fi infrastructure and speed being upgraded to 100mb from 1st September 2016 and the laundry machines will be converted from coins to the mobile app/card system this summer. Regarding the cleaning, we are changing our cleaning contractor from 1st July 2016 to a company we have used in other buildings and know the standard of their work is very high. We will also be offering weekly cleans of the kitchens in addition to the bathrooms from September 2016 onwards to assist the residents in keeping communal areas clean and tidy. I am confident that the level of service and friendliness since the change of management has been higher and both myself and the team will continue to provide the high level of service that CRM continuously strive to provide to all residents and their guests. Overall it's been decent. Rooms are tiny and really not in a good state. In the beginning of the year, one of my friend's bed had bedbugs in it. Room I got was not cleaned properly and the key didn't really work for the first week because "they didn't have the time to fix it" so I was forced to keep my room unlocked. The blinds on most windows are not wide enough and they don't do their job very well. Storage is decent but that's about it. The flat itself was something better. Showers broke constantly (as 6 people shared 2 showers) and they weren't cleaned neither properly nor weekly. Kitchen is decent sized but the appliances in there are something better. Fridge sometimes just stopped working, the microwave sometimes spontaneously catches fire (happened in other flats), same goes for kettle. If you don't set up a "cleaning schedule" or if you don't live with clean and tidy people, you're in for so much fun. People I live with are nice but not all of them are the tidiest people so I think we just kind of got used to constant ebola state of the kitchen. Halls and kitchen are not cleaned by the arcade. A big problem is black mould which is everywhere, especially in showers because they have no ventilation and on window sills. Some flats have it, some flats don't and it's literally a gamble what you get. Wifi was the worst. Didn't work, was slow when it did, facetime with video is nearly impossible in some places. Management did absolutely nothing about it, but worry not, they contacted ask4 (the provider). Laundrette worked on change but apparently they are switching to cards like any other reasonable place. Dryers are not really working as you have to dry your things twice. Noise levels are high, you literally live next to a large junction, a biker pub (enter 2am v loud harley davidsons) and a college with unbelievably loud people. Also there is a police station and a hospital nearby so get used to constant ambulances. It's a bit dodgy if you're a slightly drunk girl walking home at 3am but you get used to that as well and men usually leave you alone. On occasion people get stabbed but that's just London. Other than that it's quite nice, you got morrisons, iceland, waitrose, mcds, burger king, kfc and wetherspoons in like 5 minute walking range. Overall I'd say location is nice and convenient. The staff were rude, unresponsive and didn't really care for us until recently. No amount of "free breakfast on the arcade" will make me like the place or forget how we've been treated before. People who live here are nice and funny and from very different unis and backgrounds. It's a bit awkward to hang out as there is no common area other than kitchens but you get used to it or work around it. tl:dr: Rooms are tiny, new staff and management are unbelievably unfriendly, wifi is literally the worst, laundrette is not really working and noise levels are quite high. But the people are nice and the location is decent. Go elsewhere if you can afford it. If you can't or just found out last minute that you need a place to stay in London, you'll probably be stuck here. My condolences.
The Arcade offers you the privacy and independence private accommodation has but with the perks of student accommodation. All bills are inclusive (no worries about gas or electricity), everybody is only liable for their own rent. It also has security 24/7 and maintenance gets things repaired quite fast. The flats are colourful and I never had problems of humidity or damp. The kitchens are big enough to have a couple of people cooking at the same time. The state of the flat, of course, depends how you manage with your flatmates. The location is fantastic. There is a direct bus to almost anywhere. It gets around 20-30 min to get to Euston or Angel. Around 40 min to get to Old Street, and around 50 min to get to Trafalgar Square. Amenities around are also pretty convenient. There is a big Morrisons, Waitrose and Iceland across the street. There is also a small shopping center and an Argos.
Great location for a student. All shops and utilities are a step away from the accommodation. Transport links are fantastic and just under the building or across the road. There is no need to walk far to get whatever you need, everything is just outside the door!!! Rooms are nice and cozy, affordable price and good quality (nice green, white and red colors around!!!!) If anything happens there is the reception open 24 hours and they try to fix ASAP. Friendly staff during day time and available to meet student needs. Overall I can't really complain as I enjoyed my time here :)

Rooms are the very definition of basic - literally just a single bed with the tiniest amount of floor space. The noise is one of the biggest issues - I had a room facing the 'quiet side', however, there was nothing remotely quiet about it. There was noise 24/7; the shop below has people delivering things all the time, and all I ever heard was shouting and swearing from the men doing it. The sixth form college next door meant that the kids from it would congregate underneath my window each and everyday, making noise like you've never heard - and this is just during the day! The flat itself was filthy - I couldn't even use the kitchen due to the amount of dirt in it. The supposed 'cleaners' who clean the bathrooms once a week were useless - the shower was covered in dirt and yellow staining from age. The smell as well is an issue - as soon as you entered out of the lift, the smell of damp, sweat and general dirt hits you. I had to pay £182 for this tiny excuse of a room - and worst of all I couldn't just move out as they have a policy that you have to find someone to take over your contract which took me 6 months to do! Constantly, the facebook page for the Arcade was full with complaints; noise complaints, complaints about the appalling wifi service, and the list goes on! I highly advise you think twice before moving into the Arcade. It is very rare that I write a review for something, but I felt so strongly about this that I had to share my experience.
Very standard student accommodation. The rooms are basic, but for the price you can't complain. There is a desk, a single bed, window, all the necessities. You do have to share a shower and toilet which can be a bit of a hassle when you get up in the middle of the night. The kitchens are a bit squeezed and not the best for socializing but they do get the job done. However, the mattress are literally unbearable to sleep on. The management are aware of this but don't replace them unless you make a request with them. I was super busy to get that done and don't think it's fair that you have to speak up to get the proper quality you pay for. The location is great and being on the high street means there is plenty of places to shop, go out for drinks and get food. The station is just down the road too and that gets you into central London in just a couple of minutes. Also there are plenty of buses taking you across London too. Make sure you know which room you are booking, some face the street and are very noisy - but do provide for a great view over the street. Other rooms have a much less exciting view but will be much quieter. I was put in a flat with some great flat mates and we all got along very well and occasionally had parties in the flat, although the atmosphere of the building goes dead after November. It was the flat mates that made this place an enjoyable stay overall. I'd say because of the small kitchens and no communal area there isn't the best social atmosphere, so just hope your flat mates are ok. I was very disappointed in some of the staff at the property, they were occasionally rude and treated many students like they were at a school camp. Most of them were OK but there was one or two that just shouldn't be able to keep their jobs. They were very out of touch with the students and didn't act in a professional manner. Overall, an OK place just let down by the management.
