it was a pleasure staying here overall i’m very satisfied and it was comfortable
The rooms are okay. They are a bit small, but that’s quite normal for the UK. When I first moved in, there was still some construction going on. Now that it’s finished, the building feels much more spacious and modern. The gym, shared spaces, and other facilities are generally good. However, I was never able to use the cinema room properly. The cables were often broken or the keys were missing, so it was always out of order. The rubbish area is in the lower ground floor, which makes it a bit far from some rooms, but it’s still manageable. I never had any issues with safety or security during my stay. Staff come for a room inspection once a month. If something breaks in your room or needs fixing, they respond very quickly. In my case, they sorted things out within a day or two. I used the cleaning service a couple of times before my family visited. It wasn’t bad, but not super thorough either. The terrace is still not in use, but they recently opened a new deck in front of the common area, which is a nice improvement. The location is very convenient. In terms of social life, some people say it used to be more lively. For me, it wasn’t bad, just not the most energetic environment. Some night managers can be a bit difficult. If you’re having fun or laughing with friends in the common area, they sometimes hover around you like police, which creates a tense atmosphere. That’s all that comes to mind for now.

Great place to live! Great place for students!
Although the room is small, it’s more than enough. Facilities are well kept, generally clean and the staff are super helpful
Unless you want to be awoken by maintenance every week, I suggest you stay somewhere else. I’ve never stayed somewhere where maintenance has to come and do so many things, kicking you out of your room whether you’re just trying to sleep or have important work to do. For the cost, I think you can find much better accommodations at neighboring facilities.
Definitely the worst student accommodation I’ve had the misfortune of staying in. Staff: the staff consists of people who are there to have fun and party. They do not understand or care about their jobs. On several occasions I have seen staff come in and out of students rooms, smoke weed, and socialize with residents instead of keeping the building safe. Some staff members get really “cozy.” With the students that live here which gets those students “perks.” Meaning they are able to bring whoever in the building, smoke, party all day, essentially the people who give in to these perverted staff members can do whatever they want) Staff are also very selective with who they deem worthy of “respect.” I had issues with an ex boyfriend and requested 20+ times to not have him let in the building. The staff always seemed so preoccupied smoking and in students rooms that they put my safety in jeopardy and continually let him in, risking my life. When I first moved in I was NOT told to pay a deposit. A few weeks later I receive an e-mail from Franchesca Anum, (she is a receptionist and financial manager lol) that if I don’t pay the deposit by the end of the day My student visa will be canceled and I will be evicted. NOTE: those at reception are the most unprofessional and unruly staff in the building. One girl cannot keep her eye rolls and distasteful attitude to herself. When I was moving out of this accommodation, I was told that they were the only ones who could “help me.” So they brought trolleys up to my flat and stood outside my door and watched me lift my own heavy items and pack my own things. When I confronted them about this she couldn’t stop rolling her eyes (maybe she has an eye issue?) And the other one constantly needed to reiterate the email I sent her months prior about her not coming into my room, talking about my behavior and how my attitude is “disgusting.” Genuinely starting a verbal altercation with me. So disgusting Rooms: Low quality appliances. Easily stained countertops, walls, shower. Had to use bleach often to clean things because they stain so easily. A lot of issues with my room when I first moved in as well, toilet wouldn’t flush, cracked sink, chipped paint, and wardrobe wouldn’t close. Appalling for the price you pay. THEY WILL TRY TO BILL YOU FOR ANY DAMAGE! Take pictures of everything in the rooms! Ambience/ people: Absolutely filthy. Full of 18 year old + that are on all types of drugs. I’ve witnessed people having sex in the cinema room, people peeing in the hallways. Lines of Cocaine in the bathrooms, blood on the toilet seats, bottles and trash in the common room every night. When you tell the night team this they would reply with “they’re students!” Right... The people there are in “cliques.” And truly believe they’re better than you, a girl and her friends attempted to bully me the entire time I lived there! It’s just unfortunate and trashy how the people that live in the building have a mental age of about 13, these are not normal and functional adults and should not be able to live in a community of people. In conclusion, Scape Student Accommodations mission is to provide an “inspirational, safe, and calm.” Place for students to live and feel at home more than ANY OTHER student accommodation out there. I can tell you this is NOT the case. They have failed to provide a clean and safe environment where a NORMAL, CLEAN, and DIGNIFIED person is able to thrive. I spent 5 months here and wanted to leave after the FIRST WEEK! I hope this place shuts down.
I have never seen such a bad management team, kept complaining about the million broken things in my room and no one ever cared about it. Would not recommand this place at ALL!!
everything broke as soon as you touched it. the windows are suppose to be double glazing- you can here everything on the street from the court yard and from next door! management are appalling only focusing on bleeding the students dry rather than making them feel comfortable and help dealing with the issues that come up you just get fobbed of yet on your arse when it comes to rent! worst building i have ever stayed in.
I stayed here for a year whilst studying for my masters. The communal spaces are excellent with a free gym, cinema room and a really nice study area. It's super close to Old Street tube station so it makes travelling around fairly easy as well and my journey to uni near Euston was quick. The reception team and the maintenance were always friendly and helpful whenever I had any issues. The room I stayed in was a Studio which I found to have a surprising amount of storage, the rooms are well designed, containing everything you need such as bathroom, kitchen with a hob, fridge and microwave plus you get a TV in your room!! There was quite a few events that they put on throughout the year, although I didn't attend all of them the ones I did go to were always fun and everything was paid for :) Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Scape and would love to stay this year if I would still be a student. I definitely recommend staying at Scape to others
I lived here for a year. Worst place. Although it was built last year, there are so many problems such as false fire alarm at 3AM, water piper problem causing noise. The maintenance has no idea how to fix problems. If you have a serious hearing problem, this place is certainly good for you
