It’s late at night, you’ve got five tabs open and you’re trying to decide where to live next year. The photos all look similar. The descriptions all sound good. Then you read one review from a student who actually lived there, and suddenly it all makes sense.
A student accommodation review can be the thing that tips a decision one way or the other.
That’s why we care so much about them.
One review, one decision
It’s rarely the big things. It’s a line about the staff who helped someone at 2am after they’d locked themselves out. A comment about the study room being quiet during exams. A mention of the flatmates who became best friends.
Small, real details like these are what make someone think: yes, I could live here.
Why we want honest reviews
At Hallbookers, we want reviews that tell it as it is. Not polished, not exaggerated. Just your real experience, in your own words.
That’s what makes a review useful. And it’s the only kind of review that helps the next student make the right choice.
The reviews that go missing
Here’s the thing. When something goes wrong, we want to tell someone. When things go well, we just get on with life. Nobody writes a review to say the heating worked all winter.
So a lot of great places, run by teams who work hard to get things right, end up with far fewer reviews than they deserve. And the picture students see gets tilted towards the complaints.
If you were happy, say so
Plenty of students have a brilliant time in their accommodation.
Good friends, helpful staff, a room that felt like home from the first week.
If that’s you, share it. If your accommodation earned five stars, give it five stars!
Your review could help another student choose the same place and have the same great experience you had.
And if something wasn’t right, tell us that too. Good, bad or somewhere in between, honest is what we’re after.
It takes less than a minute
Leaving a review is quick. Find your property, tap the stars and write a few lines.
