University of Exeter, a member of the Russell Group since 2012, has its main Streatham Campus on a hillside to the north of the city centre, covering business, humanities, sciences, law, engineering and social sciences. The St Luke’s Campus, just over a mile away on the east side of the city centre, is home to the medical school, sport and health sciences, nursing and education. Where do students live in Exeter

Pennsylvania, immediately north of the Streatham Campus, is the closest student area to campus and one of the most popular, with a high concentration of student housing along Pennsylvania Road and surrounding streets. St James, between the Streatham Campus and the city centre, is another well-established student area with a mix of private house shares and managed student rooms within walking distance of both campuses. Newtown, just east of the city centre, is popular with students at St Luke’s Campus and those who want to be close to the city centre, with good bus connections to Streatham.

Getting around Exeter

Exeter is a hilly city and routes between student areas and the Streatham Campus can involve significant climbs — worth factoring in when choosing where to live. The UNI bus route connects St Luke’s Campus, the city centre and Streatham Campus. Exeter St David’s railway station has direct services to London Paddington in around 2 hours 30 minutes and to Bristol in around an hour.
