So if fire alarms (a single, high pitched monotonous squeal) five times a day three times a week wasn't bad enough, nothing works.
Nobody bothers with the fire alarms anymore. Think the boy that cried wolf. It's dangerous really.
I don't think there's a single thing in this flat that hasn't broken. When maintenance finally came to check out why my sink wouldn't drain, it ended out my pipe went into a wall and nowhere else. Just into a wall.
The mattress is less comfortable than the floor.
The washers have been the bain of my life. Circuit aren't great as it is, but somehow these ones are just abysmal. 5 washers to sort out Dorset House (300+ rooms) AND the halls next door of a similar size is just stupid. They've ruined my clothes (and since I've been using Circuit for the last few years I know it's not me). The staff don't help.
Halfway through the year they stopped notifications of when I was getting parcels, so it's a guessing game now. I have to go down and check it out, and considering I'm the top floor on the other site of the place it's not ideal.
Whilst I've been writing this there have been three fire alarms. I'm now nearly deaf, and a grand total of zero people went outside to the meeting point.
It's dirty, they only clean as when new people are coming to check out the flats - they wipe things with concentrated lemon cleaner so your nose is too overwhelmed for you to notice the fact that last week's drunk kebab is still on the stairs. Talking of which, there was "mayonaise" down the stairs (three flights) for a good month.
When people were moving out, there were bin bags piled up to a second floor window. The fact that someone's flat is above the bin area anyway is a bit grim, but they just left it there for weeks.
So, overall, if you want to waste 10k so you don't have to get the bus to University it's great! Only, now the exams are in another non university building so...

Rooms are really nice, good quality but overpriced for what you are getting. A lot of things still haven't been tended to or fixed throughout our time here. Friendly staff do help. Annoyingly there isn't a bigger car park for visitors/friends/family and difficult access at times.

Friendly. Good noise level.

Pros:
- close to uni
Cons (Literally everything else):
- Washers - either constantly out of order or damaged clothing worse than when it was put in
- Drains - blocked drain outside made halls smell like literal faeces
- Cleaners - never really cleaned, only ever realy used strongly scented lemon cleaner to mask smell
- Mattress - every spring broke in 1 month, was comfier sleeping on the floor
- Packages - email notifications stopped coming so i never knew when any packages were arriving
- Bins - were always overflowing, attracted stuff that was not pleasant
- Noise - people constantly partying, also fire alarms went off around 20x a week lasting more than 2 minutes a time, making it very dangerous as students no longer took them seriosuly
- It is run by students..... enough said with that.
- Overall they do not care as long as they get your 10 grand
