Stratford One, London

The one who said they cannot hear their neighbour next door was simply being lucky. Some rooms are separated by solid walls but most are not. Comparing to other unite buildings e.g. Quantum Court / Mooraker / Wellington Lodge, this one's got exceptionally thin walls and much smaller rooms. The receptionists are nice, but real problems are never solved. I had two people staying in a same single room since December till 'their' contract ended in September and I was able to hear their low volum speaking voice almost every night (they sleep during the day and slam the door at night), but they only got warnings. I was lucky enough to have no indoor smoking pricks living in my flat but I doubt if you catch weed smell in your flat / studio the problem will be solved. There're better and larger Unite rooms out there of a cheaper or similar price.

Rooms are assigned randomly so like me, there is a chance you will be given a room with a window facing the train station which by the way, is conveniently not disclosed on the accommodation website. When your tenancy ends, they won't refund the full deposit, instead choosing to take out the cost of damage caused but the previous tenant (which by the way you complained about when you first moved in but were told that nothing could be done). When you finally call unite and they realise their mistake, one of their incompetent advisors will tell you that a full refund will be deposited within 5 working days. 2 weeks later...3 weeks later i still don't have my money.

Have been living here for 3 years and can't really complain. Great accommodation.

I don't really see why everyone above is complaining about the quality of the rooms. Everything is perfectly sized and if looked aftered everything will remain intact.. As for sound I've never heard my neighbours. As for kitchen smelling of trash and Indian food, firstly there's nothing wrong with Indian food secondly take your trash out so it doesn't smell!. As for staff discussing personal matters to your flat mates, why are you telling the staff about your personal matters? We have counsellors who help for that stuff. As for the price, the accommodation now is highly priced when it started of at 179pw it was perfect. But as Stratford is soon turning to zone 2 it's understandable. Other than that I feel the residents who have stayed here since it opened should at least be able to book it for the price they were once paying. Study rooms are convenient. And laundries you have to pay in majority of the accommodations anyway. I don't think anyone could ask for a better location it's perfect. I've lived here since year 1.

While the place it is positioned is very good (Westfield, Stratford) and the place is quite new with clean-looking rooms and very basic facilities provided. The rest of it does not live up to its price. Small rooms, ours was smelling various smells from other kitchens (with smells ranging from rubbish to indian food). Sound proofing is horrible, you can hear the whispers next room. Internet was down often. Kitchen cleaning is almost non-existent. Laundrettes and essential facilities are usually broken (at the time of writing one of the only two elevators to a block of 20 floors have been broken for more than a week). Management can almost never help you in an emergency. Also, security is almost non-existent. Mock fire alarms for testing and half-assed fire drills with no consideration for safety. Also, everyone can tailgate you at 12 o' clock in the evening and security will not even bother asking for an id. Overall a very overpriced student accomodation. If you are looking for student accomodation in london, this is not worth considering.

The interior of unite is very aesthetically appealing. The rooms are nice, the kitchen is adequate. Living next to Westfield and Stratford station is very convenient but that is absolutely all. The management and employees are absolutely terrible. I can't stress that enough. They ensure that your stay is as miserable and stressful as possible. Also laundry is 3.90 for the cheapest rate and only takes coins. The trash room is an endless flight of stairs away from the rooms. Lastly, the staff sucks.

Stratford one is in a great location next door to westfields and near public transport.



However you cant even swing a cat in the rooms, for the price you would expect larger rooms. I have been to other UNITE buildings over the year that pay less and get more for their money.



If you enjoy the gym, swimming and shopping everything is nearby.



The staff are friendly and willing to help. However they discuss personally matters with your fellow roomates and others which i think is unexpectable!!



I would recommended looking at other unite buildings as this is too pricey for students that do not get the maximum student finance

I expected to live in nice, clean accomdation, that was idea for all kinds of people.

I will not make the mistake of living here again. Has not met my expectations one bit!!

The staff are not professional. The have no done anything to try and resolve my issues - emphasis on the fact that they didn't even try.

You can here noise from both the kitchen and your neighbour in your room.

It is too noisy.

The smell of weed is ridiculous.

The only up side is the location and cost, other than that, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

ok yes its new, yes you have great view and yes its safe but the price of the rooms is too much for the location. Its zone 3 you cannot charge that much. Also half of the facilities did not work throughout the year, maybe because i was the first year and there was a lot of confusion from the stuff. Many repairs should be made,some walls are already falling. Lastly the thing with the contracts, it's stupid that i have to find somebody else to replace me if i want to break the contract. Its not my obligation to have your room full. A big fail from me for unite!

Well, it is overpriced. The rooms are not really big, I have got a studio and it is quite small for me. They rented the common room on the floor out so I've got no place to hang out with my friends. I emailed them and never got a reply. Won't live here ever again.

Stratford one accomodation is in a fab location, next to Westfield's and the Olympic park with amazing views out the front!

However the rooms are very small with limited wardrobe space and the shower is so small you hit your elbows washing your hair!

Also for a new building there are leeks in the common room everytime it rains and the rooms are so hot (windows only open 2inches) its impossible to sleep!

The price for London accommodation is cheap but its not value for money as they have obviously taken short cuts at any bit possible!

The lifts in the towers continuously break making it difficult.

I do think the reception and management are good and try to deal with issues but there's not much they can do with the issues I found.

Being close to Westfield's and the gym/pool is beneficial however the nearest local affordable supermarket is a fair walk with shopping , the other options are wait rose or sainsburys local which are expensive.

For the money you pay I do think washing machines should be free or TV's in the rooms/kitchens as they are quite basic :)



Overall I would recommend if your looking for something basic and affordable, and don't have many belongings ????
