After moving here in September to pursue my masters at Leeds, first impressions were good, good rooms and large kitchen facilities, however that's where the compliments stop... From there I was downhill, from constantly leaking washing machines, dirty uncleaned stains and broken furniture in the kitchen/living room. Management is all but none-existent from not collecting parcels (even when stated online there is a 24/7 receptionist) to giving you the wrong postcode for your parcels... I moved in the midst of the pandemic (september 2020) but I would have thought there would have been a few people I was in my 5 person flat alone for months.. and after numerous lockdowns, constant loneliness and my course being moved online, I asked to leave my tenancy which was to no avail and they said they would look into it for then the next email stating I have to pay my rent instalment, no support or lenience at all considering I was no longer there using anything at all, which is disgusting... overall an awful stay.. Location is great but there are always some dodgy figures outside all hours of the day and sometimes unbearable noise of incidents outside in the early hours of the morning... Management, upkeep, quality and overall atmosphere ruined my stay (even taking in to account the pandemic) wouldn't recommend to anyone quite frankly..

Having lived here this year this place is completely saved by the location. Being so close to Leeds city centre is Algernon Firths only saving grace. I have found management to be rude, unorganised and unhelpful, on many occasions my parcel arrives at a weekend and with reception closed, I find it on the floor in the main entrance. When I moved in the kitchen had not been cleaned for us, and the hoover did not work for the first 3 months, despite me informing management again and again. On more than one occasion the main door (the only security) has been left propped open and there has been an incident where the police came to remove a homeless man wandering the building. This place needs a bit of love and care, a receptionist who is not always on Facebook and the WiFi seriously needs sorting out, as it constantly crashes in the evenings, cutting out all together. Only worth it if you love the short walk to town and uni, and if you don’t mind paying a lot (they are increasing room rates) for accommodation which isn’t luxury.
