Subpar security (gate always left open), some receptionist are horrible especially at night, MOLD in the showers, problems with water pressure and temperature, dirt in the hallway left there for weeks, dirty kitchens (unhygienic and unsafe in some cases), MOLD in the washers, clothes always stained and smelly, dryer takes at least 2h to barely dry, £10 per load, and it’s 3 washers and dryers for 150+ students and only 2 vacuums. 1 oven has been broken all year, and there’s no window in the kitchen, MOUSE in multiple kitchens, MAGGOTS in the carpet (nothing happened when i complained), and no matter how much you vacuum the carpet will stay dirty and the room will stay dusty no matter how much you clean. I have a view of a grey wall with 0 light (very depressing), can’t open my window because the dumpsters are bellow with horrible smells and bugs come in. Security searching rooms on the whole floor because of cigarette smell obviously coming from one room, maintenance coming in my room with no prior warning (while i was sleeping once) No common area or living space or dining area. You will eat, sleep, study and cry all in ur tiny room with a smelly dirty carpet!

You really are paying for the location more than anything else. One of my windows is broken, meaning I can't open it without the entire panel popping out of place. When the boiler for my room broke, it took a month before the staff stopped just pressing the reset button and called someone to actually look at it. This meant I spent a month with almost no hot water in my shower in the middle of winter. The launderette is tiny and the dryers rarely work on woolen clothes, meaning you have to either pay another £2.30 to dry it again, or hang it in front of the little heater in your room. There are three hoovers that you can borrow from the reception when you need to clean your room, but at least one of them is usually broken and all were apparently stolen (by the students living here) at some point. Another big issue: ants. I initially complained about them in November, nothing happened. I complained again recently (March). They say they've called Rentokill, but it's been two weeks and I'm still using dettol as ant repellent. I'm pretty sure they're living in the walls, and coming out through holes in my desk. They're renovating all the rooms, so hopefully this issue will go away next year, but with the room prices going up with the new improvements, the rent here is still pretty ridiculous. Most of the staff are friendly, but seriously, only rent here if you're desperate to be opposite City University and don't mind seeing ants crawling over your stuff.

First of all I had the smallest room of the building , in the bathroom it was smelling cold cigarette when I moved in and it still smells the same ! Secondly they were doing some works on the roof but I only knew that when I entered my room there were a paper on the ground . But that s not a problem they put you on the last floor so you are sure that you can hear all the noise. The kitchen.... I don t really know where to start , they show you nice pictures from the other building , but when you enter the kitchen , first it is 40*c because there is no window. It smells Chinese food in the whole building again because of the same reason. They are suppose to clean the kitchen 3 times a week , I don t know where it happens , when I moved in my closet was sticky and full of dirt. The fridge , the floor is sticky and full of dirt. There were a leak with the tap instead of fixing it they just putted some duck tape are you serious? So don t go there it is the worst accommodation you could get for that price and it is not cheap!!!
