Having lived in Brunel for 2 years out of my 3 whilst at UCLan I can safely say I wouldn't have wanted to live anywhere else. These other reviews are quite frankly ridiculous. Yes I admit there are issues with maintenance but they are sorted quickly and as efficiently as possible - never did I have any issues with that. (I think its fairly safe to say that any student accommodation unless its a new build is going to have some issues!) I always felt safe in Brunel and made some fantastic friends, I lived in a studio flat in the Annex both years and loved how peaceful it was. The comments about internet are also ridiculous - the wifi in my 1st year at Brunel was admittedly not great. But in my final year they updated it and it worked amazingly! I was always watching Netflix and never had an issue. There is a small gym that (although I never used or actually even went into) I thought was an amazing addition. The management team are great, and people need to get over the issues with post. Seriously, like be grateful that there is always someone there to sign for parcels for you! You certainly wouldn't get that everywhere. Finally, there isn't a pass system anymore for overnight guests and whoever said that it was 'degrading' for a 21 year old to have to ask for a pass for someone else to stay over- you wouldn't have been saying that if you had been robbed by someone random who had just wandered in not having a pass!!! Regardless, the system went at the end of my last year there. I still follow them on facebook and they actually look like they're also having a massive overhaul and redecorate so I'm a little gutted I've left! All in all I'd recommend Brunel any day of the week.

Pretty good location as you are in city centre location for the shopping centres pubs and clubs ect also you are right behind aldi which is only a short walk to do your shopping. Common room is pretty decent with sky television, sofas, pool table vending machines and dartboard which has glass doors leading into the courtyard or if you live in a studio in a seperate building then then this door is quite ideal for you rather than walk around. The rooms are a decent size and pretty clean but Always have your key on you because your door slams and locks behind you (no latch). Guards are quite helpful and pretty friendly. There was a overnight pass system where you had to ask the manager between 9-5 but if not your friends had to be out by 11 but now that rule has been scrapped. And guests can come and go as they please but must be met at reception, but yeah overall a good ideal place.

These halls are possibly the worst you could come across. The rooms are crappy and not well looked after ; when I moved in, my room was dirty, there was no chair at the desk, my light didn't work, the towel rail was falling off and I had no headboard on my bed. I'm moving out next week, I still have no headboard, the towel rail is still falling off and the lightbb needs replacing at least once a month. I agree with the other reviewer, it's like a prison here. The lack of freedom with guests is ridiculous- having to apply for a pass for your partner to stay with you overnight when you're 21 is degrading. I also agree that the security guards are arsey and extremely unhelpful to the point of being intimidating. The environment is very ladish and o wouldn't recommend it for a female as one of the security guards is creepy and pervy. Honestly, it's depressing living here. The walls are paper thin, the water isn't always hot and it really does feel like a prison. Please explore other halls before settling on Brunel Court.
