Stayed here for 2 years. The quality of rooms is mostly good in terms of space and facilities. There is an issue where rooms become extremely hot, particularly in spring/summer, and it is very difficult to cool them down. I don't get why people say the location is good - it's either a 40 min walk to the University, or a 15 min bus ride but this incurs additional expenses. Also, there is a construction site, active daily, tens of meters away on one side, and the high street (noise of traffic, shops, a school, etc.) on the other. Two washing machines and two tumble driers is not really enough for the building, and is extortionately priced at £2.90 per wash and £1.30 per dry (yes, it's Circuit). Accommodation manager, Rebecca, is friendly and competent; unfortunately she is leaving soon. Overall, considering this is student accommodation, it's not really worth around £200 pw. However, most issues I have had are with other residents being extremely inconsiderate, particularly with respect to noise, and I know I am not the only one to have complained of this. Of course, the accommodation itself can't be blamed, although it could perhaps be managed better. People have no issues slamming doors, holding (non-whispered) conversations and playing music/videos on phones in corridors, excessive stomping in rooms on floors above, shouting in the courtyard which is directly below about half the rooms' windows, music/TV being heard in rooms not even directly next door... and so on, all mainly at night (typically between 10pm and 2am), despite being told, by e-mail, multiple times, to stop. I have lived in various other student accommodations before and have never had to put up with this many noise issues. I have a fan to help drown out noise and ear plugs, every single night (which works but shouldn't be necessary). The bin store is repeatedly left in a terrible state, with rubbish bags strewn across the floor (even when the bins aren't full!), and the recycling bins full of plastic carrier bags and sometimes large cardboard boxes (not cut up) stopping anything else being put in. People have been told, but it still happens. Main entrance doors have been broken repeatedly by people neglecting to close them properly. Also, and I hate to say it but, the residents are generally not that friendly. I don't expect everyone to try and make friends, but... I mean, I've been in the lift when someone else joins me, and without so much as a glance, then stands facing the corner glued to their phone (perhaps it's just me lol). Overall I did not enjoy my stay, mostly because of noise complaints, most of which come from the other residents. I feel slightly ripped off. I'm sure it could have been worse but I would not stay here again unless I had no other option.

I have lived at central studios for 2 years and have had a very positive experience. Great accommodations and services and the friendliest and most helpful staff in the U.K.!!

I was a resident at CSR during the 2016/17 school year and am more than disappointed. Some of the conditions that I've had to put up with are unacceptable, considering the expensive rent. It takes them way too long to fix any maintenance issues - both common and personal ones. I waited for more than 2 months for them to fix one of my lights. The front door broke down several times (because people were kicking it from outside) and the last time that happened, it was not working for weeks before they fixed it. The whole building has access to only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. At some point random people managed to enter the building and set off the fire alarms multiple times. Even though I wouldn't rate my stay there as disastrous, it sure was not worth the money.
