poor management... they don't take action on complaints, a/c heating doesnt work, amenities in games room and gym needs to be fixed .
One of the worst places to live in London. Very expensive for what if offers and not a good value for the money. My biggest complaint is with the security at this accommodation. At the beginning of the year (October 2019), a stranger was let into the accommodation (which is supposed to have 24h security and special keys to enter). This man threatened one of the students with a knife and stole the student's valuables. The accommodation did not do anything regarding this incident and did not strengthen security. Multiple times, nobody was at the reception in the evening for hours or was smoking pot outside of the accommodation. The staff, especially security guards, are extremely rude and unprofessional, screaming at students in the common room or not allowing visitors during the evenings. The Wifi is quite low as well. The windows don't protect well from wind or noise.
The place has a really good location but there are many problems that you will experience when living there, for instance, the staff is unhelpful and rude and the common areas are constantly dirty and there seems to be no motivation to clean them. Also, when I first moved into my room it was not clean and after complaining there was no attempt on fixing the room. Additionally, the tv never works, hot water is constantly going off and the door for entering the blocks, which is supposed to be a security issue is always broke. I would not recommend this place at all, it is too expensive for the quality it offers, for the prices they have here you might as well move somewhere else

I ended in a cluster with dirty flatmates, had to clean everything and when I left I was charged for the dirt in the kitchen. did not let me change room when I insisted for it. Students party a lot the night and You hear eveything when your window is on the side of the courtyard. If it's i-on the side of the street you hear everything form the bar right in front of the residence. Really anoying when you need to sleep or to work. Room with a lot of broken things : the bed have been poorly repaired before I came, the television didn't work and it took them 2 month to change the batterie of the remote (yes, that was the problem of the television). and staff can come whenever they want of they want to repair "something". Happy I left !!
I stayed here when it was under Student Castle and the management was great and everything was very organized. Under Liberty Plaza, we have had cold showers for atleast 10 times this year. We would have no hot water during the weekends as they couldn't find an engineer. There are hundreds of students here who all have to suffer and hope that there will be hot water when they shower at night. The staff are snobby, once they fix it they think they have done us all a favour. The truth they should invest money into fixing the problem as they have already been saving money on running less student events. The biggest issue here is how the staff and management have dealt with the issue and especially how it has happened constantly throughout the year. The staff here are quiet rude and they don't understand that we are customers. Times where I wanted to get a parcel and the female staff replied "I can't be you are asking me to check because you haven't received a confirmation email from Liberty plaza that a parcel has arrived" "I can't be getting out of my chair to check a parcel all the time" Really is she doing me a favour? This has caused me Significant time and energy hassling staff down for hot water, my package, and room repairs that I would not be staying here for another year . It is at a good location and rooms are a good size, but the stress caused is not worth the money.
Well-designed room (though small), nice staff, safe, good gym, great location, maybe just a bit pricey. Social events could be better, but other than that, good place to live.

I lived in Student Castle for a year, from 2014-2015 and I have to say what you read online over what it is actually like to live there is very different. Student Castle as a group are great, the location and rooms of the halls are fantastic. Student Castle London unfortunately lets the Student Castle group down. The staff are constantly changing and always seem to hire students that are living there to work on the reception - which leads to biased decisions as to which students can have guests and which can not. Do not live here if you wish to live independently, the staff constantly check up on your living areas (3 official check-ups and roughly two unofficial check ups each month) and if they're not to their specification then you will receive a hefty fine - not great for a student, this is not something that is a one off, it reoccurs through the year. The staff regularly ran little incentives to encourage students to leave good reviews online, even linking a few of them on the official Facebook page. The security team are great, however in the 2014-2015 year one of the members of the security team had to leave due to them sleeping with one of the students staying in the accommodation. There seems to be an extremely high amount of drug use in this accommodation too, it would be something that is observed every night, with a high number of students partaking in activities involving narcotics. Throughout the year, the staff team also enter your room, with or without your permission, several times was I awoken by members of staff entering my room or I would return from university and find things in different places or discover certain things moved, by members of staff (when I went to check who had accessed my room) without my permission or knowledge. There is a lady who seems to run a lot of the student and staff interactions, I will leave her name out of this review, but she always seems so caught up in other things that when you go to ask something, request something or even comment on something that isn't working correctly, she doesn't seem too interested or doesn't respond. This didn't happen to just myself, this happened to both my social group and other people who complained on the Facebook page. All in all, Student Castle London is fantastic if you wish to live centrally while you study, but it's downfall is the staff, drug use, fining system and unauthorized room entry.
I knew student castle from my friend and she said she really enjoyed here, not only that its strategically located but you get the best value. The cheapest studio is more spacious than other student accommodations. I've seen that when somethings wrong the maintenance is really quick to fix it and they make a lot of funny parties for halloween/valentine's day.
As many other halls this ones have a good location, nice rooms and friendly staff but what makes it different is a common room, where we can gather together, find new friends, share news and spend a great time.
Very good location and most importantly safe location! Staff and especially security are always friendly and looking out for everyones best interests. Despite the social atmosphere being very electric, doesn't get too noisy at night either
Tom and Paul are the best security guards in the world. I normally have bodyguards in Rome but these two are way better than them. Terrry is alright as well. The courtyard is very clean and I really like the atmosphere, which is safe and easy going. Ellie (the girl @ the reception in the morning) is very nice as well, and so is Nina. Single fever
Although expensive compared to other living solutions in the area. Student castle offers a pretty veiled safe environment to live in. The location is great. The rooms are small but only if compared to flats. Among student accommodation. Its probably one of the best around if not the best.
Security are bang on, they deserve a fat pay rise. Some secretaries cause unnecessary problems (aside from Madison)

Student Castle is amazing, always clean and beautifully designed. When I first came to view it my family couldn't believe it was for students, saying it looks more like a luxury hotel! The building has all the facilities you could need: a 24hr gym, dance studio, music rooms and really nice socializing spaces. The rooms have been excellently designed to provide maximum storage space. And it is in a great area, just a short walk up to Shoreditch, many restaurants and coffee shops with in a couple minutes walking distance, a Sainsbury right below it, and a short walk down to the Tower of London with more restaurants and a view of the river!
Most people leaving here don't know about how unsecure this place is and how disrespectful and dishonest the management is. The accommodation can easily steal and throw away your belongings from your room when you leave it for a long time and then pretend being fools and don't take any serious responsibility of their actions. I would not recommend this place to anyone who cares about their belongings and safety. For the high price you will pay leaving here, you have a high risk of become a victim of security guys and managers and will receive nothing afterwards.
It's very expensive to live here and hardly anything is up to scratch. Even when you try to get them fixed either they're not fixed or they say they are, when they're not. Staff are sometimes rude but mostly they're pretty good at what they do. The environment here is pretty tense, in that although the staff have tried to get people to come together it's still awkward if you bump into people you don't know. Quite a lot of the people that actually live here are rude and disrespectful especially when it comes to late night music, sharing lifts and sometimes holding doors open!

En suite Rooms are small. Not much space. Walls are very thin. You can hear the tv in your flatmates' rooms. Not satisfied with management. Some staff are a bit rude and unfriendly. They lock your door key for no reason and without warning. Never send you emails about parcels, and when you ask for your parcels they just ask you to go check your email. Room inspection every term, and the inspector describes your bathroom as "ew, disgusting" in front of you when it's actually not.
Student Castle is an ideal place to come to when you’re new to a city such as London. When I first cam to London, it all seemed very overwhelming at fist. My family lives abroad which meant I had to “Stand on my own to feet”. Student Castle helped me settle into the city because it provides me with security and any help from the management if need by. Having arrived in London my priority was to come to a place I can consider home and Student Castle helped me feel that way right from the start. It is a place to easily socialize and meet nationalities from all over the world. Student Castle is where you want to be!

Great in terms of atmosphere and room quality! Shame about the building site makes rooms dusty and is extremely loud!

Great location. Very clean. Room far too small. Tv plays up. Security doorsuppliers left open. Everything falling apart. Smoke and food smells when heating or aircon on. Very loud and bright building site outside. Management staff are not willing to help. One rule for one, one for another. If one student misbehaves everyone is punished. Very childish atmosphere.
