I'll begin with this, the Scape team offers bribes to students who write positive reviews about Scape and the building as a whole, making most reviews fake, and full of lies. This student accommodation's only positive is that it's near to the Ravensbourne uni and North Greenwich station. Other than that there are no positives about the rooms or the building as a whole. I've been living at scape throughout this academic year and have had countless issues with the room. My toilet has had problems with it running for about a week straight before someone came up to fix it only to have it break again the next day. This was between October and December, and happened continuously until I was stern enough to complain and they finally changed the part. Majority of the staff has been rude and very dismissive of any problems, usually saying they'll log it or tell someone higher up, when they never do. And as of recent, half of the building has been having problems with carpet worms and silverfish in their rooms. The entire half of the building is infested with bugs and the maintenance staff, and scape staff have done nothing towards it. I've had to stay with my boyfriend and move my clothes and bedding away from the room because of the fear of having my entire closet filled with bugs. The staff have done NOTHING to help me and it's gotten to the point where I have to contact higher up staff. The wifi is also extremely unreliable. You can only have a certain number of devices on your wifi and it goes out regularly for a few hours at a time, it's patchy when it works, and when lots of people are in their rooms it stops working altogether. Do not rent with Scape. Their prices are outrageous and for the price you're paying there shouldn't be anything wrong with the rooms let alone a bug infestation. I would give this 0 stars if I could but that unfortunately isn'y an option.
Scape is absolutely ridiculous, I now know a number of people who got fined for having bloody glow in the dark stars on their ceiling and can I please point out that the ceiling is legit not even f**king finished and itโs just disgusting concrete Itโs also just a huge waste of money and managaement is pure horrible and has banned my friends from coming to my room too
The accommodation is fantastic when compared to any other company or student accommodation, its the perfect transition between living at home and living on your own. Everything you need in one room however that is what you're paying for with the extortionate rates they charge for the rooms. Its close to the tube and has good connections to the O2 ravensbourne university and the rest of london. However as for the immediate area around scape greenwich, currently it is plagued by building works and the is not much to do. The staff generally very helpful and kind and also fun in most cases, but theres always one or two who will make your life difficult when they are on shift. All in all i personally wouldn't stay here for another year but it is a very good place for first years to meet people and have fun.
DO NOT CHOOSE SCAPE GREENWICH FOR YOUR HALLS. TAKES AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE CHANGE POLICIES WITHOUT TELLING STUDENTS. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE YEAR OF MY LIFE
Lovely rooms and location, yet the staff aren't helpful at all. Not a comfortable place to live and it's a very money making coporation.
Great facilities, including gym and washing room, communal kitchen and socialising facilities - they are well used! Very safe and controlled by staff. However, rooms relatively dirty on day of move in.
spacious, tidy and clean
Wouldn't mind laundry to be cheaper Please provide computers that we could borrow Facilities are amazing
I was one of the first to move into the new development which at the time was not finished, and wasn't completely finished until we moved out (1 year later...). I was lucky to be one of the students on the local uni discount of ยฃ170pw. With a cracking view of Canary Wharf, which has now been built in front of... The quality of the room is average, for what you pay you can live somewhere far bigger as a 2 or 3 bed down the road in many new developments, including GMV, Westcombe Park/ Charlton Area. The management are unhelpful with most problems you have, one of mine was a microwave (your only oven like device) to not be replaced once broken for a good week or so. You'll have great memories and meet lots of really cool people but expect it to be an overpriced shoebox of which you get random room checks (circa 2014). Experiences may have improved since I was there 2013-2014.
The first term was fun - lots of parties, fun atmosphere, quiet study zones and activities to meet people. It spiraled downwards from there as communal areas were closed, 'Nazi' security guards were employed (to stop people stealing from the bike shed, but apparently they can walk into your locked room, unplug your speakers and give lectures on alcohol and drug abuse). The "noisy" areas that we are supposed to use for parties and drinking are also regulated - we can't have music too loud due to a poorly designed building with people up to floor 4 being able to hear the music, and people up to floor 8 being able to hear people downstairs outside. Not to mention the random room inspections during the first term that were in proven to be illegal and broke the rules of our contract. Tut tut, the management think they're running a nursing home.. not a student accommodation. If you like to have fun, look somewhere else - this one is for the quiet ones who don't party.
The year started off great and the staff and management were all very relaxed, but then a few different rules about what you can and can't do at certain times were made, and it snowballed from there. It's in a good location and close to many shops and bars and restaurants, but there is a reason I am moving out at the end of this year - because you really don't get what you pay for.
The extreme rules and regulations are getting far too out of hand for this to be a properly functioning, student accommodation. If it goes any further they will have to stop us drinking full stop! The people here are quality, the rooms are really nice (but rediculously over priced) and most of the management are awesome bar a few receptionists and the 2 security guards who seem to enjoy abusing their power a lot!
Scape Greenwich is situated in North Greenwich at Bear Point, on East Parkside. It's a great setting with a lot to offer for everyone, and it's a 15 minute walk from Ravensbourne and the O2, plus there is a Sainsbury's about half a mile away. Like a lot of London student digs, it doesn't come cheap. (Nearly ยฃ4000 per term in my case) but you do get use of the communal ovens and TV, your own Microwave in your room, and more. The only downside I think is that as it's still a fairly new accommodation there are some staff members that are inexperienced and this sometimes leads to misunderstandings. However most of them are very capable and friendly, and usually able to help. So overall I still think it's a good choice, especially if you're not from London and you're going to a Greenwich based Uni.
Ravensbourne college is just down the street. It's a new building so there's a lot of issues including the wireless being slow and the lots of local construction work is loud.
It's a pleasant stay
Everything you need is near by.
Great location!
The building wasn't finished and there's lots of local construction work going on.
It's a solution as a fresher but not to live here next year.
Just a good stay.
It's a safe area but it's a bit far and no nearby shops.
Nice rooms but wasn't completely finished when I moved in. It's a great building and there a good social environment.
