A-Level results are coming!
Waiting for A-Level Results? Here's how to prepare for Results Day and Clearing
If you’re waiting for your A-Level results, you’re probably stuck in that strange in-between stage right now. Clearing 2025 has already opened, but you can’t make any final decisions until A-Level Results Day on 14th August.
It’s frustrating. It’s nerve-wracking. And yes, I’ve been there too.
But here’s what I learned: even if you can’t control your results, you can control how you prepare for Results Day and Clearing.
How to prepare for A-Level Results Day:
- Make a list of universities and courses you’d consider if things go differently than planned — whether that means entering Clearing or even doing better than expected.
- Read up on how the Clearing process works so you’re not caught off guard when it begins to move fast.
- And most importantly, start thinking about your student accommodation. Once you’ve accepted an offer, rooms go quickly, especially in popular UK cities.
That’s why I always recommend using Hallbookers. It’s a free, reliable platform to compare student accommodation across the UK.
You can:
- Search by city or university
- Filter by room type and budget
- Explore availability for Clearing accommodation
Whether you’re staying with your firm choice or heading somewhere new, it’s a smart place to start your search.
What happens on A-Level Results Day (14th August 2025)?
This is the big day. From 1:00 pm (UK time), the UCAS Hub will update to show if you’ve been accepted by your firm or insurance university.
You’ll also collect your actual A-Level results from school or college.
If things don’t go to plan (or you’ve changed your mind), you can enter UCAS Clearing right away and start contacting universities with available spaces.
It can feel overwhelming — especially because things move quickly — but having a plan really helps:
- Know what courses you're open to
- Keep your UCAS information handy
- Check out student accommodation options early so you're not starting from zero
And remember: Hallbookers is here to help you find the best student housing, whether you're going through Clearing or not.
Get ready now so you’re not rushing later
Take a moment now to prepare:
- Know your university and course options
- Keep your UCAS info and grades ready
- Explore budget-friendly accommodation early with Hallbookers
No matter what happens on Results Day, you’ll be ready to make your move.
